"Haydee" is a hardcore old-style metroidvania mixed with modern-day third person shooter and platformer mechanics. You will controll Haydee - half-human, half-robot character in search of her way out of strange artificial complex full of traps, pain and depression. No casual stuff awaits you. There is no "X to win". Your gun, you instincts and your logic are your only friends. Don't drop your guard, conserve ammo and collect items on this long journey. Be vigilant, be sharp, be ready.

- Large complex to explore. 6 gameplay sections. 160 rooms.
- No regeneration. Use medkits.
- No checkpoints. Use save stations and diskettes.
- All items are hidden. Explore.
- Limited inventory. 9 slots for your pleasure.
- Hardcore gameplay. You will fail. A lot.
- No handholding. Act on your own.
- This game won’t tire to kill you. Be persistent.
I mean, games that are made with boobs and ass in mind pop up all the time on Steam. What I find really strange about this is that it seems like they put actual effort into the visuals and gameplay.

Yeah the game looks actually decent. Though I really don't mind ass and tits really... in this case I just find it... too much. Some more natural proportions would have been better.
What surprises me about these 18+ games is how almost no one pairs it up with good gameplay. I thought Hunniepop was a good Match3 game on its own and I assumed it would make a difference. That you'd see more of those games attempting to be more than just tits and ass (though the dev themselves failed on that with their second game).
Most of them just end up: bad gameplay with shitty dialogue written by horny teenagers.

Oh really? The Sakura games are still on Steam and Valve seem perfectly OK with allowing unofficial patches that restore content to be distributed as long as it's not via Steam itself but those still make their way to the various image sharing sections.
(Of course there's more restrictions now due to this and some other things and outright eroge makers like MangaGamer and Jast have to make sure their games can't be altered like that to be accepted on Steam.)
EDIT: Obviously the writing is nowhere near that of certain (also includes all-ages products.) Japanese developes like e.g Key and the game itself for a visual novel is barely two hours long (So just above the refund period.) which is really short (Some games are upwards of 50 hours, some even longer.) but it seems the developers are still doing really well...somehow.
(Quite a list of games now from these devs all about similarly "meh" from my understanding but still enough for the developers to keep making more both on Steam itself and on other channels.)
EDIT: This also came out on Steam yesterday supposedly almost completely unchanged from the Japanese version.

(Original is from the late 80's I believe or possibly early 90's and then a updated version came out in 2004 or so in Japan and now localized in English.)
I thought I'd never say it, but the game is actually...not terrible. It has problems such as the repetitiveness environments-wise (I've spent one hour playing so far, and encountered same-ish corridor-like layouts and enemies), as well as the insanely low fov which makes dat thickness stand out while also giving nausea. Though, the mechanics themselves do work well - reminiscent of Tomb Raider (classic) - minus the level design of course. It's damned challenging too, one misstep and you're dead meat [fetish unlocked]. Like the old times, if you've forgotten to use the save disk, cursing is 100% guaranteed. (ninja mines ahoy!)
Well it didn't take long for people to mod this game did it?
(Just scroll down a bit and all sorts of player model replacements should appear in the images. )
