I built my friend a new low end system to play games on. She enjoys arcade games, Mortal Kombat-type games, casual games, simple strategy games such as Rollercoaster Tycoon. Her English, however, is pretty poor so any game that requires more than simple English to use, is out. Stuff like Worms, Peggle, Pac Man, Double Dragon Neon, etc she loves. So: does anyone know any good games (or indie games) that would suit her?

Yes funny Laughing .

It's surprisingly hard to find games suitable for her. I have almost 1500 Steam games and still managed to only find 15-20 games she'd play and half of those were borderline.

Stardew Valley, Sims should be fine. Those two have basic english, so they should be okay.

I'd say that King's Bounty has too much english in it (see the quests involved).

Play doctor? Poker Face

Get her: http://store.steampowered.com/app/274980/Influent/

Some other:
- Pixel Puzzles
- Ori
- Valiant Hearts: The Great War (Unless French is also not an option, I assume Belgians at least understand it Ok! )
- Sonic Mania
- Anything driving or platforming, bunch of older console games would fit that (aka set up some emulators up).

Been going through my list and I can't say I've played many games over the year that I could recommend to someone with a very limited understanding of English. So maybe find more language learning games so she can become better at it. plenty of sites for that.

Good ones - Portal I didn't install because she's not that good at logical puzzles that require speed. The others will fit well.

Not sure if these could be right up her alley but: Sine Mora, Deadlight, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Spelunky, Ronin, Broforce (not very feminine games I know, but oh well Laughing Very Happy)

If she wants to try some adventures that aren't too difficult and don't involve the English language she could go with Amanita's titles (Machinarium, Botanicula and Samorost 3), I think there's a high chance that she might like them.
And Brutal Doom, if she likes that then she's the one to marry Cool Face

Spelunky is the best bet here I think. The others wouldn't really be her thing.

I tried Stardew Valley but there's still too much text - the game is pretty linear in what you can do and you need to understand the text to progress. Halcyon has too much English as well. I thought I'd have more suitable indie games but it seems there really aren't all that many arcade-quality indie games out there.
