Nice!
Did you ever use Skype or whatever to coordinate with your co-op friends?

Well twice in a row,
and I had enough souls to level up 3 - 4 levels. Just happend to try kill a knight. I failed.. I scratched him.
Was in a hurry to get my souls back and got careless, and died... again.

DNACowboy wrote: | What's it like on the PC? | Well with DSFix it's really fluid, crisp and quite a lot of fun. Also Steam syncs my games to the cloud and I can play on my laptop and my PC on the same savegame. DSFix also creates backups in 15 minute intervals, just in case my savegame goes corrupt (which are then also synced into the cloud by steam)
I play with a wired 360pad, so everything is fine in that regard as well, because this game is virtually unplayable with anything else, especially mouse and keyboard.
Had a good run where I killed all bosses after the carpa demon at the first try but ornstein and smaugh provided to be good combo breakers

Demon Souls = Beat the 1st boss then lost interest ....
Dark Souls = Got to the outside of the castle, I really don't like it though, seems clunky as hell, the hit effect seems to be off ...... Much prefer Dragons Dogma

Completed both games once. Heck, completing one play-through itself felt like a major accomplishment.
Demon's Souls - Level 81 Royalty Class
Dark Souls - Level 105 Pyromancer

Couldn't get into it... played for an hour or so, but it seems really "primitive": little to no story past the intro cutscene, clunky and awkward combat, world seems very empty, devoid of color and unappealing. I didn't feel invested in it, and never took it up again.

Agree totally with every point .... Keep trying to get into it but the clunkiness puts me off every time

Well, shortly after this discussion I found myself without new games to play, so I decided to give this another chance.
Finished it a couple of days ago, around level 100, and I must admit my initial judgement was wrong. Or better: my criticism still stands, but if you invest enough time in the game you start to appreciate the good aspects of it, which are not immediately apparent.
It's challenging, but rewarding when you finally manage to beat a certain boss/area.
The main criticism I have, now that I played the game in full, is the fact that you rarely know where to go next. I admit I had to consult a walkthrough every now and again, not for tips/boss strategies, but just to understand where the hell I had to go next.
Also, I never really understood how weapon crafting works, I kept collecting embers/titanites of all kinds and giving them to smiths, but no matter how many I gave them the "modify equipment" menu was always empty. I ended up finishing the game with a normal greatsword (the Zweihander) upgraded to +15, but there was never a moment where a "lightning" or "flame" upgrade was available in the menu, even after giving the smith in question several kind of embers. Maybe I'm missing something stupid, don't know...
Anyway, very good game. It's just a shame that I feel like I've missed a lot because I wasn't playing it "properly" in certain aspects (ie: crafting, magic). But I don't think I'll do a second run, too many hours

Stopped half-way through NG+ in Dark Souls.
Beat Demon's Souls.
Enjoyed Demon's Souls more.

to be honest, having more frequent checkpoints in dark souls would completely ruin the tension and the need for careful and precise gameplay.

Finnished ds twice. Good game!
Played thru dks multiple times. Hundreds of hours. All of which was worth it. If gtaV doesnt last until dks2, i will go back to this game again. Awesome game.

Yeah, fair enough. I guess this type of game isn't for me. I know a lot of people loved it because it was more back to some older, really hard games. I am glad they got a game series that please their needs.

Most problems/hardships have many solutions though.
Like the darkness in tomb of giants. You can have the helmet radiating light, throw a light spell, or even tie up a hand with skull lantern. Or fuckit all together and run in darkness...
Older games were hard to make them longer often. Im not even going to touch arcade games.
