Rawbots

  • Official web page: LINK
  • Developer: rozgo - Indie on Desura
  • Genre: Battle Arena?
  • Release date: TBD - Currently in Alpha
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:

A universe where you can play with amazing robots that are designed, built and even programmed by you.

Everything is a robot, doors, roads, walls, bridges, safes, traps, turrets, surveillance systems, etc. Build forts, towers and architect impressive structures to protect your planets and resources. You may play solo or with friends to infiltrate, conquer planets and gather resources.

Traditional keyboards and mouse can be used along with midi devices, gamepads, iOS and Android devices. Create your own input setups and master your designs, whether it is controlling a huge robot or entire armies of relentless minions.
The Rawbots universe has a unique set of matter, energy and physics laws. These laws are engineered to serve up fun emergent gameplay that is different every time you play. Everything you would expect from a sandbox game and more. We are taking this to the next level with gameplay that truly emerges beyond imagination and defined contextually by the type of robots you build. On one planet you might experience a first person shooting experience, go into a space battle in 3rd person, and down into an RTS offensive on another planet.

  • Multiplayer: YES (not implemented yet)
  • System requirements:

I was just browsing through the Desura alpha funding section as I do from time to time (there are some hidden gems kicking around on Desura specifically in that section, this is likely to be the next one!) and came across this game. Whilst the trailer doesn't show much of what the game may become the premise and current status really intrigues me so I figured it would be worth throwing a thread up. Its currently up on Steam Greenlight too so if you like what you see, show it some love.

The price tag for the alpha feels very high, so I don't plan on putting any money down for now, but I may well grab it in the near future.

Sounds like a modern version of the old game called OMEGA by Origin systems. I fucking loved that game. It's one of the few games that I still have the original box and contents for.

I used to play that to death, with some mods it was an awesome game.
Will surely keep an eye on this.
