Baleur wrote: | why the fuck are u ppl saying "FUCK FP!!"?? it aint that they "steal" betas from you.... if FP didnt have their own exclusive betas then you wouldnt see the betas at all!!! How many fps betas or rts betas did u participate in before fileplanet started throwing betas? not more than now so shut up.
the fileplanet betas are there for subscribers, thats it. thats all.
you wouldnt get to participate in those betas if fileplanet didnt exist, then the betas would just be internal as all other betas were before fileplanet started to make money of it.
so shut the fuck up and accept it, the betas are a perk for being a fileplanet subscriber, nothing more, they arent taken away from the other pplz, because you non-subscribers wouldnt get them anyway! those betas shouldnt even be public, but they are as a perk.
go home to mommy and ask for money if u want in the damn betas so damn badly, or get a job |
You have a point, but we have the right to whine
FUCK FILEPLANET !!!!

We say fuck fileplanet because fileplanet pays these developers A LOT of money for these fileplanet only beta's.

Not true. These type of betas are usually reserved for close friends and family, and we wouldn't even get a look in. As it is, fileplanet pays the developers a wad of cash and they allow some public to participate.

No. This is supposed to be a public beta by all means. It will be open for the public a week after it is released on FP. This is why people hate FP, they pay the developers to reserve the beta for a certain amount of time, even though it is supposed to be a public beta.

The worst case was when Red Orchestra 3.0 was released, Fileplanet had paid the mod team for that a big wad of cash so fileplanet was the ONLY place you could download the game from. And on top of that subscribers got the mod 3 days earlier.

What? If it's anything like the past two Splinter Cell games it should be great.

If it's anything like the last splinter cell it's an outdated cash in that lacked anything new, interesting or exciting.
Besides it was just a throwaway comment at the furor over Fileplanet.

You mean completely linear, formulaic and boring gameplay?
Not much replay value in that.
Besides the whole system of movement and control needs work as well, and then there is the lack of options for your main character - and the reliance on pin perfect conditions for certain actions themselves.
I expect improvements myself.
I'm not saying it was a bad game but the sequel was nowhere near the shock to the jugular that the original was - and even then that release was marred by the Metal Gear Solids.

Me think there is... Since I think Sam's one liners and tactical killing is very kewl, entertaining and way cooler then a guy in a invisible suit...

Why? it's completely generic - there isn't any room for manovurablity in the situations - they largely end up the same for each and every person all around the world... each and every time.
Also another thing that comes to mind - the whole combat system is too basic - firing a gun is too much work and far too inaccurate. Not to mention unsatisfyingly seemingly more an afterthought in the developers eyes.
Whilst close quarters combat is severely limited to just sneaking up and knocking out.
Oh and the story was dull.

Also maybe you can reel off some of those memorable one-liners.... let's see how many others remember.

And metal gear solid isn't the same?
Anyway, this is the true sequal, the other was more of an addon.

I actually enjoy SC on several levels:
- It's a good playstyle, I'd say it's almost as thrilling as Doom 3
- It's very rewarding. You almost have to squeal with joy after you take 3 armed guards down with your fists and by getting them to shoot each other
- The MP was great. If you're into stealth, you can be a spy. If you're into FPS you can practice for thanksgiving by stuffing the former with fragments of heavy metal and your heavy rubber boot.
- It comes the closest in recent recollection to true "adventure" games... i.e. games for the sake of the storyline, not action (fps), wasting time (mmos/rpg's), or speed of mouse-clicking (RTS).
The sequel will be great. If it rocks, I'm taking a week off to play it. If it sucks, I'm resuming my rifle and burrito routine (PC Gamer readers will know what I'm talking about).
I'm still gonna download it though...
/doesn't buy anything

am i the only one who always have hated FP, long before they started with their subscriber betas?

reading ircspy it says the beta will be open for 1 week toi gamespy premium account holders. this could mean its open for 1 week then givien to us. or it's just an exclusive beta and is only gonna run for 1 week . Beta's are a good way to get it as near to perfect as possible, by limiting it to FP accounts then ur probably not gonna reach any hardcore gamers and 99% of the casual playing public.
