I cant patch my farcry ( 1.0 - 1.3 ) ( farcrypatch_v1.3_t ) When i browse for the gamedirectory in the patch installation everythings fine. But when i click "Next" Nothing happens at all. Note that i cant patch the game with the 1.1 patch either cos then it says "The installer could not find any previous version of far cry. You have to install the game before you patch it" Also observe that ive downloaded the game (myth-farcry)... So.. can u guys help me or not ? plz / holy monk

Easy, you need the rip patch. Unfortunately the 1.3 update is probably not available for the rip release. This is very common with other rip games. I'd recommend you get the cd or dvd version and use the normal patch Last edited by razor1394 on Sat, 15th Jan 2005 19:26; edited 3 times in total

No requests! The rip patch is warez dox. Consider this as a warning.

Just to point out that the reason the patch doesnt work is due to a modified exe (and possibly other files). If you wish to install a game and patch it at a later date always backup the original exe (and any other files the crack modifies), before trying to patch replace the cracked files with the original, run the patch and add the updated crack. syn :: addition :: With relation to rip releases, many of the files are empty placeholders, a patch will search for file name/possition/size and CRC hash. These will not match up with rip releases as they have been changed, so a patch wont work. A rip patch is modified to search for the changed files, and thus will work. cough sorry if that made no sense.

Any time this error shows up, it is usually because the registry keys for the game are missing. The Myth rip never installed the keys. All that the key does is tell the installer where the installed game is.

It is also the reason some games like Battle for Middle Earth have problems with exploding units. It needs the reg keys to work properly.
