I also had problem with this brother in arms and cold fear.
I tried patching xbe file with xiso, qwix, and dxbe. That didn't work for me.
I then found this other tool from a thread posted in newzbin forum. It's called ZXBTools and you can get it here, http://www.zonaxbox.net/zxbtools.html
When you use this tool, just use the "tools" dropdown menu, pick "patch XBE/ISO", browse for your iso file or xbe, and check the box "devkit->to retail ". Then hit patch and wait and then burn the iso.
I went through a couple coasters trying other patching tools, but this one worked for me. Hopefully this will help someone else. If so, post results

you were using apps that werent designed for the purpose you desired!!!
most of the apps you mentioned are not supposed to patch from dev to retail - they were just to circumvent the new media keys that came out a while back that were supposed to prevent piracy (lol, as if that's gonna happen) .... anyway, get a hold of an K release and it's full of tools to sort out stuff like this
I personally use a little prog called "dev to retail patcher.exe" and all i do is drag the default.xbe file into the .exe and it comes out patched, cinch
