look for emporio updates...there is a cumulative update from 5 to 8...I don't know if you have to install also the previous updates....someone who knows?

i dont think the emporio update works with the vengeance reales. but vengeance will probably crack the latest updates soon, so you better just wait for that

so the current steam version is not cracked yet? sigh so much catching up to do, also I'm curious about these bans I've heard of, does it mean that valve can ban you for good, or is it just an account, and you can get a new one. because I have bought HL1 and play CS all the time on my old account, but if that account I could get banned for good, I'm not so sure I'll bother with it. If they do ban you you can still go out and buy the retail HL2 and it should work right.
Although I am trying something called SIX-steam atm. interesting little program.

erm.
buy the cheapest version of the game
that way you get all the updates in seconds instead of worrying about finding upgrades all the time and eventually getting your ip banned by steam. but thats just me

They don't ban your IP, they ban your username. Just setup a new acount with a different name. You can use the same e-mail as before and you can play again.

still easier to buy  at least for people who have difficult finding obscure releases like me hehe
