Both the NFO and the release date on the site tell me it's been released in early 2002.
Does anyone have that version (already) and can he/ she tell me if it indeed released then or if the rls date is just freaking you around?
(I'm thins doubtfull, since I downloaded an RC of it a few days ago and now I searched on it again (on IRC, if you need to know) I saw that pretty many people had this version, wich makes it unlikely that it's almost 3 years old. Also, because I downloaded the RC on the same date that th scene group released it. AND because it's hard to take the rest of there NFO serious (check minimum system requirements))
PS: I think this link makes my point even more clear 'http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/default.mspx'
Thanks in advance, Battle_707

just to point out a few things..
intel had 64bit before AMD, your talking as if this isnt the case. This version, is without doubt beta, as for it being "pure" 64bit, who knows? its a beta? Wait for the proper in a few months time to get a full, working, happy and good version of this OS. If you want 64bit OS's now, got for linux, they've had 64bit OS's for a long long time since the good old age of DEC ALPHA. Another thing, windows 64bit will work on 64bit based systems.. ONE LAST THING..
intel have true 64bit. AMD dont. Try not to get confused .

Dispite the fact that I like AMD more then Intel (officially I should be neutral, but not in here, so who gives the ***k), Intel's tanium Processor was indeed never a true 64-bit CPU. Why? Since 64-bit applicatons ONLY could run in an emulated environment.
On the other hand, AMD's 64-bit (x86) CPU's are fully 64-bit. No special environment has to be formed to let it run 64-bit clusters.
If you're still not satisfied (how to write), Microsoft will wait for Intel to realease a 'proper' (compeateable) 64-bit CPU before they'll release Windows codname: Longhörn. Since that will be released in two versions (even though people tell me it will be only in one (->64-bit), but I believe it's to soon to make that jump); 32-bit and a 64-bit version.....
Back to the origional post question: Thanks, luizmp. Now I know it's not a nuke or something, but a proper release of an older version of WinXP 64-bit (I heared about it, never saw it).

Hmmm, you might be right that it was the 32-bit apps which had to be emulated...It's been too long for me after I last stuck my noose in this stuff.
Now, you reminded me: those indexis (physical memory)are indeed not totaly up to the job, but I was talking about the core. AMD's core's are (except for the semperons) now about all 64-bit (those which you can still buy, I mean). Intel's core's are less upto the job then AMD's.
But, making a long story short: AMD got more 64-bit (more proper, according to some people) CPU's then Intel, and since Microsoft is (as always) sleeping with Intel, they'll probably wait for them to bring up a larger choice.
Anyhow, I'll test out the beta sometime (when I got the time) and check it all out myself. Thanks for the help, all!

|
 |
Hi there,
I acctualy had a system with 64-Bit AMD Athlon CPU,
then i installed a Windows XP 32-Bit version and then i installed Matlab 7.0 on it.
When i'm running matlab, splash screen and first page will come up and soon will go away(nothing runs constantly).
But Matlab 6.5 will runs Completely on the same system and windows.
What you think is the problem?
