What you buy for yourself..

(This excludes houses..cars..debts..etc. I am speaking more for personal pleasure and or leisure. This also assumes a large enough lottery and common sense to keep yourself comfortable for a lifetime.)

I would personally buy the materials and set up a forge. This is assuming that I found a cheap home in the country with a small bit of land where it could be accomplished. I have always wanted to spend time learning how to fold metals, create swords, and learn the mysteries of metal.

After a long days work of hammering and sitting in the heat, I would jump in the shower, and go read books in my circular library with a glass ceiling so that I could always look up and watch the weather as my mind drifted off into the fantasy world of the book, and I began to visualize the events that I am reading. A good reclining chair would be required of course Smile

I would buy the best computer and try invest rest but who knows

You can do more than speculate..the the reason most of the wind up broke is that the lottery is essentially a poor mans tax. The people that win are often unaccustomed to that amount money and wind up not being able to budget it correctly. That is why I included the common sense argument at the top..

So all you would buy is a computer? That's your only goal? I know you've got something else you want Wink

I know that I would like something else and ultimately be really objective. But people who obtain vast about of money in short period, really loose it.

I'm only a student and when I noticed I had overpayment of $1500, I seriously went crazy. Wanted to buy myself X,Y,Z and would have been left with nothing. Same thing can be said about person who won million and spent 1/4 on car 2/4 on house and rest 1/4 on vodka/drugs/partying because this is where you end up.

I play lottery from time to time and I hope, I will never win it. Becuase it changes people, in the wrong way,,,unless they have some common sense and invest in somthing..they are just going down to shit-drain

I agree with all of your points..but it's not what I was attempting to accomplish.

Let's change it up. You have an infinite amount of money and already bout off all your loans and you have a house and the car/s you want. You also upgraded your computer to maximum capacity and now you need something that is going to make you happy. What would be? This can be a collection of Transformer toys..anything... Something you have always wanted to spend money on learning..or buying so that you can tinker with it.. Training..whatever you want.

Something I've always dreamt of building, if I was filthy rich, was a pretty big bedroom, bed in the center of the room, with a domed ceiling. Also, being able to make room ABSOLUTELY pitch black. Then, have someone build a projector-setup that projected either our real, or when I felt like it, a fantasy galaxy/solar system, onto the ceiling, creating this amazing spacescape. Think of the galaxy map from Mass Effect! Like that, but in giant, IRL form. This incorporated with a really nice sound system, so I could for example loop the Mass Effect galaxy map song. Anyone get what I mean? Razz

Goddamn, I would never get out of bed Very Happy

Well first I'd buy myself awesome computer, and some gadgets (smartphone, wacom, etc.). I would definitely buy myself a nice, not too big, flat, with nice view, something some nice designer designed (but not some crazy design Laughing). And definitely a bunch of legos xD

I dk, I don't think I'd quit working. Because how would I meet new ppl? :\

I'm not the type of guy who just goes out and meet new ppl :\

I'd put a lot of money on a side, in a savings, and buy several apartments for rent. I'd also help my closest family with their financial issues.

I dk, I know that I would not start partying hard and doing drugs, that's not my style. I'd probably get some nice bike, and drive on it a lot Very Happy

And travel a lot, definitely, there are tons of places I'd like to visit Smile

Apartments are always a good way to go if you have a decent way to manage them while you are away.

Travel is definately a reasonable response to the question. Travel around the world, just you and your legos on a deserted beach Smile

30 miles of coastline and you still manage to step on this fucker..twice.

I thought of similar.. move to one of those shitty ass islands and buy a shitty ass shack and just stab lobsters and fish for the rest of my life. It sounds so much like paradise.

That's what my dream is but realistically I would get bored with it. So after I spent a couple of years sailing around the world i'd sell the yact and build my dream house somewhere near Austin.

My dream house is basically a big fucking garage that could store like 20 cars easily on one half, and then have a big work bench area on the other half. Then the second floor have the living areas. Basically just Jay Leno that shit and buy every car I want and rotate through my collection driving them every day.

Didn't win anything..I've played the Lottery for quite a while though and sometimes I get excited. Won a few hundred dollars twice. I knew some other people played though and was curious what you guys would do with it Smile

@Mchart - I'd have to agree..as awesome as the shanty sounds it cant last forever and is bound to get knocked over by a hurricane... It's a fantastic dream though. I think that mine would be a reasonable house in a forest near ocean access though..probably Oregon. Hopefully deep woods with wildlife access and the ability to fish all year round even if I do not catch shit.. Just sit walk nature, learn hobbies and gain technical expertise until I die.

I'd either hire all the people I work with and open up my own game development company.

Or I wouldn't buy anything and just live normally without having to work ever again. I'd continue learning and working in the form of hobby projects. All the fun but none the pressure.

I think I wouldn't mind a little of both of your ideas..I've thought about buying out my current company and leading my current team. Not much of a manager though and honestly if i was leading i'd have to get rid of my net admins just because they are lazy ;(

if i had so much money that i could live of it properly the rest of my life , i would give most of it away , not directly for people to spend on luxery items but more like cancer research, organisations that help disabled people and all those things, maybe new soccerballs and outfits for the local youth, invest in colleges to offer more programs like assembly coding.... yeah weird selection of things i would do , but i honestly couldnt live with myself sitting on money i dont need knowing i could make others happy.

I wouldn't like to be a manager (yet) either. First off I don't like bureaucracy and I don't think I'd be good at it as I'm not a very communicative person. Would probably have a puppet regime where I work among the normal employees while in truth I control it all from the background Twisted Evil

I'd have to play to win Smile

That said, if I did win - I'd donate most of it to whatever cause, and probably cover the debts of my loved ones - including my own.

Then keep a little for play-money, but I'm not a very materialistic person - so money only means something to me in terms of how much I need it.
