THIS! What the fuck?! I was so glad to see the title of the thread. Then I saw how it looks... then I saw that's not made by Bugbear... then I suddenly stopped giving a fuck about it. I wanted Flatout 3 for quite some time, but if it's not made by Bugbear, it's not Flatout. Also, Carnage looks way better than this (considering the game looks like in that trailer and those screenshots).

after Empire Interactive disappeared, bugbear sold the license to Strategy First who used team 6 Game (was making crappy wii games) studio to destroy it
they made Flatout Wii, and now flatout 3
it's crap (as you can imagine by the shittiest trailer ever and no gameplay vid)
flatout 2 is probably the best (complete) flatout you can buy (and it's cheap), though i prefered flatout 1 because i like driving crappy cars

Flatout 2 was/is an amazing racing game, one of the best that I've played (and still play) which balances the arcade and sim racing styles perfectly. It's a game where new players can pick up and have fun, whilst at the same time the higher end cars are difficult enough to drive for more experienced drivers to enjoy as well.
Ultimate Carnage was an utter abomination, it absolutely ruined that balance - yes it had "prettier" graphics but it also had derptastic controls and driving model. All the cars basically handled the same and there was no skill involved in driving any of them, you could literally just hold the acceleration button down, grind around the track and come first. It was essentially a horrible console port in my opinion.
Now Flatout 3, unlike others, I was actually excited reading the correct name (not Fallout) but it's not being made by BugBear which is a crying shame. The Flatout franchise could have easily been one of the best (the driving model in Flatout 2 is way better than what Codemasters use imo), but it seems the original developers aren't interested in it any more and subsequent developers don't "get" what made Flatout 2 so good, instead they're trying to emulate Need for Speed or Burnout, which is not what Flatout is.

what a glorious and beautiful game was the first one, even the second. this is not. it's sad and shocking to be looking at those trailers and not be able to observe proper car destruction, even the first game did this better. with all these computers and technology...so many years have passed...

Codemasters team who did grid should really do the next fallout. I spent more time purpously crashing my cars in GRID to watch the replays than I did actually trying to win.
