Euro Truck Simulator

Game summary:

Code:
From the creators of Bus Driver, Euro Truck Simulator is a truck simulation
game set in continental Europe. The player can drive across a realistic
depiction of Europe, visiting its beautiful cities, picking up a variety of
cargo and delivering them on time!

The road network in Euro Truck Simulator is based on genuine European roads
and cities. Being set in Europe, European truck-designs feature exclusively
- all trucks use highly realistic, meticulously detailed models. The truck
interiors of Euro Truck Simulator are as equally impressive as the
exteriors. With actual working instruments such as flashing indicators,
temperature and low fuel warning lights, wipers, and naturally - a full set
of gauges including speedometer - all built into the interior 3D model, Euro
Truck Simulator offers a truly immersive simulation environment. The player
can pan around the cabin, just as if they were actually sitting at the
wheel.

So sue me, I like these sort of games - conceptually at least. RPS seem mildly excited by this mind you so maybe it's worth a look for the average gamer too? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/09/01/euro-truck-simulator-demo/

Quote:
And it’s pretty good. I mean it! I know that driving an HGV across central Europe was exactly the kind of activity you took up gaming to avoid, but SCS Software have somehow made a brilliant job of it. It’s about as close as we’re going to get to a really compelling lorry simulator - and that’s why you should play it, right now. The demo is a mere 116mb.

It's the same as 18W, but it's located in Europe now. I WAS hoping to see them put more effort in (say, 6 months?) and have more countries and places to visit, or maybe add the UK and have you cross the Channel... Oh well.

I tried this last night as i was so bored, it seems quite hard to actually get anywhere. Most you can get for the early jobs are about 3000-4000, filling the tank up can cost about 1000, you get money taken off for running red lights, hitting other cars etc, you can get licences to carry chemicals but they cost 25,000 and 50,000 each. It's boring as hell but for some reason i feel compelled to keep playing.

If you like these type of games, definitely. I love it.
Yes it is hard in the beginning but once you open up more countries and earn ~30k per delivery,
it gets more enjoyable. Does have it's flaws, but for a 350mb game there's enough entertainment for quite some time.

I'm relying on the fact that you can get away with getting the ass end a little bit near the red outline and it says 'press t' Laughing

Me and a friend were taking it in turns to park it exactly in the grid and it took us about 30 minutes. It doesn't help the way they set the brake pedal as reverse, so when you are actually reversing you have to use the accelerator as the brake.

That's what made me uninstall the previous games from this series. I took a double trailer cross country from Los Angeles to New York perfectly - no tickets, no running of lights, no accidents or bumps.

Then I got to the part where you have to line it up to off-load it and totally screwed the pooch. After 20 minutes of trying to line the fucker up, in a fit of pure rage, I gunned the gas and smashed my double trailer load of eggs to oblivion. That will show the fucking piece of shit trailer!

Thus ended my trucking career.

Hmmm Euro trucking eh? Is there a "I'm from America" excuse for when driving on the "wrong" side of the road? I will only play this game if there's a option to excuse my actions because I'm American. Why shouldn't I be able to drive on the right side of the road yelling profanities and beeping my horn while plowing into oncoming traffic? I'M AMERICAN!

hi <3

This is one of the worst trucking games ever made.
It's even worse than the 18WoS games, and THATS BAD!

It's so fucking unrealistic, fake, lame, crappy, shitty, whatever.

RoR ftw <3

I hate you.

Rigs of Rods is more relistic? With it's jelly-truck physics?

I love RoR, but it's not really comparable to the trucking "sims," because it's more of a sandbox type of thing.

Anyways, I really like this game. I also really liked this developer's previous game, Bus Driver.

Leo, thats a crap addon :\

And Cedge, the vehicles are don't got "jelly physics" if the maker knows how to mod them good.

RoR is closer to any realism than any other trucking game out there.
And by realism I'm talking about what you can do.

RoR is a sandbox simulator.
Euro Trash "Simulator" is a arcade racer.

I hate you.

Well only Britain, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus still drive on the left side and not one of those countries have a roadconnection to the rest of the europe so it shouldnt be a problem for an American.

Alright looks like I'm going to have to start using those spoiler tags just to explain a post that was a joke and not to be taken seriously on any level.

For those who still don't understand let me explain the joke to you. It was a joke about stereotypical American behavior.... understand? You know how we are assholes, elitists, and refuse to adapt to other ways? There's no need for a rebuttal against my post and there's no need for a logical response pointing out facts. It was a JOKE.
