I consider myself as a very humane person, i love working and doing things as correct as possible, sadly i live in the Dominican Republic, and i read everyday things from how a Gov official can step over everyone steal money etc and nothing happens even after being in the news, but today i felt specially bad, because of this, something that happens all day ALL FUCKING DAY:

Watch it till around 0:58,

This is a homosexual person, i dont like them, but i respect them, whatever, but i know that just how this happened, is how every murder that happens here goes by.

In DR someone gets killed and if he isnt related to someone powerful, and more powerful than who killed u, u dont get justice.

This guy got killed in camera, face caughts, wittnesses, and months have gone by, and nothing has happened, no media coverage, nothing....

I swear to you, you dont know how it feels here, how sure i am that life isnt worth shit here, how nothing works, how everything is so fucking wild...

Im sick, im fucking sick of not being able to yell, to get justice, to see people fight for rights, to see someone doing something, at least fucking 1 thing correctly. i cant really express how awful it feels to live here and to see how things work here...

caribbean and southamerica are the same, hermano!

at least, here in chile someone gets killed, and they fucking remove earth to pursue the murder and to let justice work.

the media has lots to do, i think. if any random crime that has some public implicancies, like be commited on a public place, bank, whatever, it gets first coverage on the news at night and in the newspaper the day after-

more and more politicians are starting to receive some justice nowadays... not all that would be appropiate, but its a start!!

don't let them down you. they are counting with it Wink become some human right defender and fight back. the media will listen to you Very Happy

At least you have somewhere to express yourself. Your post here can bring a new sense of gratitude to this board. People who have it too good often forget the struggle outside.

I can relate to your disgust about the killing. People can be savage, robbing someone is one thing but such incredibly damaged people take it one step further and murder just because they can. Very oppressed countries bring about some really brutal people. The worst thing is that they go after their own.

I've lived abroad, and, I am happy to be back home in Sweden again.

Murder is still frontpage news here, haven't been robbed or attacked outside once in my life
here..

Though, we still have our issues, people don't get how nice a country it is really.. but, then again, if you don't know..

But, you should try to emigrate, not sure how hard or not it is for you, as a Swede, I had alot of nations I could go to without visas etc..

Easier said than done. Immigration laws of most countries are very strict. Not to mention that you need to be a good asset these days if someone from another country will want to hire you...

Im getting ready to move to Canada in a couple of years, thats the only place where i have family and i went there and it seemed very nice, sadly my college degree here isnt valid there, i think, for now im just working my ass off, enjoying life, getting ready so when i can ill try to move to canada with a work contract, and not just go adventuring.

Right now i work in the Government, im in the Taxes area, and last year i participated and single handedly fixed one of the most shitty processes here, the ISR from workers, a lot of people had 5 jobs under the tax exemption, so i fixed it, now they pay what they have to pay, 0 tricks allowed now, thats fixed, i wish i could do more for this country, but jesus, if i try to fix something big i bet ill end up dead, everyone who wanted to do something right here and fix it ends up dead.

Drug dealers have corrupted cops and other areas, i could if i wanted and had protection or backup, hook up a project to data mine all personal info, according to salary and savings etc and start hunting cops who have incomes of around 300 dollars a month and are driving 2011 Lincon Navigators, 500,000 Dollar penthouses etc and fix the fucking police and many other politics etc who have a dark profile.

But i would end up dead in 2 days. Psfff

Fuck this. hopefully in some years ill be ready and move to canada but i cant just "Hey lets get the fuck out of here" i dont wanna go out there and live illegally and work in macdonalds, fuck that LOL.

MacDonalds only hires people with no work experience so they can train you from scratch. Pretty Ironic, isn't it?

You may be able to upgrade your studies here. you should google some schools.

You can't fix your country, but at least you're one of the good guys, doing your job. Being dead wouldn't fix anything either.

And like kumkss said, we (latin americans) are all on the same boat (although Chile is a bit better IMO). Here in Brazil only 10% of murder cases are solved. It's pretty much obvious that you can murder without ever getting caught. Lack of punishment + millions in poverty (and greedy riches) = sky high crime rates.

Sadly I too believe leaving is our only choice. It might be easier for me as my father was italian (so I'm an italian citizen), but leaving a life behind ain't easy.
