So I've only just jailbroken mine and Mister_s hasn't had his PS3 for that long either, so we're both looking for recommendations. I'm not looking for any genre in particular really, anything except shooters if I'm honest, because shooters on consoles tend to be quite aweful. Mister_s seems to be looking for some jRPGs and I'll take recommendations in that area as well 
Having grown up with consoles, I also do enjoy platformers an aweful lot. LBP is fantastic, and I have no doubt I'll enjoy Ratchet & Clank / Jak & Daxter once I get around to them. I'm gonna keep a list here of what I've tried and liked/disliked so far so you get an idea of what my gaming is like. And I loved my Final Fantasies (I liked 8 more than 7), back in SNES days shit like SoM, Lufia, Illusions of Time (or whatever the fuck it was called overseas, can't remember), etcetera. Same goes for Zelda, Mario Kart, Golden Axe, and so on - so no real genre preference 
The good
- Valkyria Chronicles: awesome.
- Little Big Planet 1+2: fantastic little platformers
- Red Dead Redemption: awesome, but I fucking wish it was on the PC, would've been so much better with KB&M. Plus, looks shit on PS3 (contrary to the 360).
- Mortal Kombat: the one game I went out to buy the second I got my PS3. Says enough 
- Heavy Rain: bit of an odd one, but brilliant atmosphere if somewhat dull at times
- God of War: yep, this is the kind of game I've always loved; liked the Kain games, Overlord and the likes? Like this one too!
The meh
- Resonance of Fate: interesting concept, but lacks finesse..and lolcheesy.
- Uncharted series: not started the full games yet (I will, even though I might quit halfway through), but while it's definitely my kind of game...console shooting 
The bad
- Gran Turismo 5: most realistic driving sim.... good career, good variety, aweful handling and for the most part, aweful graphics + sound
- Killzone series: bitch, please, fuck off

KZ2 and KZ3 SP isn't that bad
Heavy Rain is good
RDR looks almost equally shit on 360
Very few titles indeed. Haven't started my PS3 aside of some MK gameplay for months.

one of my most loved games is infamous 2, also infamous 1 was good. if you played prototype and liked it then you will like the infamous games, they are similar but infamous games are better imo. there is also a dlc for infamous 2 called festival of blood, a zombie like dlc, i haven't played it yet but i heard good things about it.
btw demon's souls is a ps3 only game, i still need to play it but if you liked dark souls then it may be a game for you.

Well I put OFW because I was so bored with it. Still don't see any titles I really want. If I REALLY wanted them, I'd order from EBAY. There are some dudes here that downgrade firmwares, but meh, I couldn't care less, because there is nothing to play anyway. |

Thing with "ebay" here is that it's usually people wanting to sell their entire game collection at once, so single games are hard to find. And I'll be damned if I'm paying for 15 games, of which 4 are FIFA, 3 are PES, all the CoDs and Killzones just for the 1 or 2 that I do want
I'll still buy the ones I like (bought the God of War collection for example), but since for a lot of "smaller" and older games there are no demos (anymore) I want to try them just like I do on the PC

What is this my pet? Are you taking initiative? I do not like this development. I did not give the OK for this thread.
One addendum: Uncharted 1 + 3 = meh. Uncharted 2 = awesome. And of course Ratchet: Tools of Destruction = awesome (only one I have played yet).
Oh yeah and GoW3 sucks because it doesn't work discless. Stupid devs not thinking about pirates!

Uncharted 2 was fantastic IMO. I liked the first one too, but I fucking flipped my shit when
 Spoiler: | the fucking monster-things appeared towards the end of the game, turning a Tom Raider-like game into a Tomb Raider-clone with a male lead. It fucking pissed me off |
But yeah, Uncharted 2 was an awesome experience. I really, really, should get Uncharted 3 soon..

Well it's still better than NFS: Most LULZWORTHY, Crapout and the likes, but yes, it is pretty terrible. Shift is more realistic on some fronts (not all, but on the PC mods can fix it) and much, much more fun. And it doesn't even get anywhere near where pCARS already is, let alone all the other proper sims. I played it with all the patches (got it for Christmas last year because they thought I'd like it). I truly wish Shift had its car selection and entire SP setup, but as far as the actual gameplay goes, there is far better stuff out there. I was very disappointed as well, because GT1+2 I loved and I had high hopes for them maybe getting back to it with GT5
If you're gonna play GT5, play it for what it is: an arcade racer with a huge selection of vehicles. Don't do it for the tracks, most are done quite badly. Don't do it for the sound either, most cars sound like bee hives.

complete and utter nonsense. RDR looks and runs better on 360 in every single aspect, it's mentioned in every game review out there, and there are countless comparison pics and vids with in depth analyses done by several gaming websites.
