after only a month. my first job. in IT. and after a month and 2 days .. they said i don't know enough but the thing is they didn't gave him anything and said I couldn't do it.
only talked to the boss in my 1st day and then apart from the occasional hello in the morning.. nothing. and then your out! wtf. why didn't they gave me a warning after a week or two? like look man.. you did wrong there. this is how you should do it. or something along these lines.
i barely got to get used with my colleagues and the customers and all that stuff. it fuckin sucks

yeah well, it's not college. It's the work place. You gotta fight, for you right, to eaaaaaaaaaaaarn.
Gotta be pro active, ask for help yourself, ask for feedback yourself. Contribute to the company. Eventually you will learn, but it is a mistake a lot of young people make when they enter the job market. Just do it differently on your next job.
You can't just sit and wait for people to give you work. And you are cheap to fire in the beginning, so if they are not completely sure, they rather fire you sooner than later. That's the way it works.
How did the application process go? Where they really eager to hire you? Did you ask what your first assignment would be? Did you ask about job content? Application is a bilateral process. You want them, they want you. If that's not the case, you better not sign the deal. Avoid getting into situations like this. If you are too replaceable, you can get fired very easily. They might have hired you to get some 'youth subsidy' (yeah that exists), or some other reason you are not aware off. Is the company downsizing and people had to go or did they just kick you out?

Maybe that was their plan all along. Just needed someone fast for the holiday season (December). Happened to me too a couple of times...
But it's the golden age of "temporary work agencies" (at least in my country) and therefore this doesn't happen as often as it used to be.

they said they want fresh, young blood who has a desire to learn more. they knew i previously haven't had any work experience. when i started i was pro active..everyday i mean i asked my direct boss what should i do. he said go with a colleague to a customer and see what he does and familiarize yourself.. then i did various tasks such as assembling PCs, installing drivers and OS on laptops and stuff, driving a colleague to another city/all sorts of laces around the city for troubleshooting some copiers/printers and stuff. he didnt have a drivers license and always somebody had to take him.
they weren't downsizing. they just kicked me out.
in the end, i don't know what my mistake was.. should i have been more active? its not like i was lying there around all day doing nothing.. i always had something to do more or less.
being too replaceable.. it was my 1st job.. no experience in the field.. of course i'm replaceable. how couldn't i be? i will be replaceable for quite some time from now on.

Seriously, if you really did what you've said, then they just raped/used you. And now you seem to think a little too much into it. Just don't let this crap drag you down.

Move along, go on to a next job. Stop asking for reason, most of the time there is none. The reason can vary from "they didn't like your face" to " they didn't need you". Be happy that you did all you could and use the experience for a next time.

No seriously, this sucks! What did you study? And how long

Well, yeah, if they let you drive people around to pick up stuff, you should be glad you were let go. There are taxis and busses for that. You ain't no taxi driver.
Quite strange to have you fired after 1 month. In Belgium you have a 3 month trial period. You can be fired for free after the 3 months or get a permanent job then. If they fire you then, you get a severance package.
But as far as i know, nobody can fire you just for fun. Anywayz, just put in on the resume and if they ask you why left, just say 'i did not fit the culture', 'Disagreement with management on long term goals', 'i felt i needed a challenge somewhere else', 'the company did not fit my competences' etc etc. Never say you got fired by yourself. It is not their business why you left somewhere else, focus on why you want to join the new company
Happy hunting

I do not believe you understand just how much tax evasion and maneuvers higher-ups are doing in ROMANIA. One guy at my workplace got fired after 5 days, but then again, that guy was pretty fuckin' retarded.
I sorry to hear this, Laur. Try applying at CGS, if you're in Bucharest, the money is great and the place is filled with great people.

@PumpAction .. finished college - computer science and some economics - 3 years.
then I went to an academy to study and get get my CCNA certification. finished CCNA 4 and plan to take the cert in about 2 months.
also did a Linux course. know some basic stuff about it plus some servers - ftp, dns, apache, dhcp -nothing major ..installed/compiled them and a basic configuration to make them work.
now I plan to learn some Active directory/server 2008 stuff by myself through some tutorials.
@spankie .. the boss said to me that i will have a 3 month trial period. but sadly this wasn't the case after all.
10x for your words guys.
