|
 |
Some of you might have read my topic with the PC problem Link.
After some discussing at home I came to the conclusion to get me new hardware (might be today).
Main Focus is Gaming.
Intel Core i5 2500K Boxed Socket 1155 quad-core 3,3ghz
Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 1155, Z68 , ATX, 4x DDR3, 2x PCI, 5x PCI-e,
Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 16GB Quad Channel Kit DDR3-kit
Cooler Master Silent Pro M700
I might end up with another MOBO and memory, i just picked 1 that seems very popular and reviews seem all positive.
As you notice it has no Videocard and HDD on the list.
Thats cause I got a HD5870 Radeon and a spinpoint 1TB HDD.
This will be put in my old case Coolermaster Cosmos.
My question:
Good choices for gaming? Is 16GB worth it?
Or should I perhaps get another videocard also?
I can stretch 200/300 euro more if needed, so what would be a good upgrade videocard be for that amount?
Or perhaps a waste of money all together looking at my Specs in signature and just focus on solving my PC problem?
Any solid input is welcome

Looks solid enough to me. Though i would change the PSU for a Antec True power unit or similar.

Yea wait with the GPU upgrade till the new one prices drop.
Even tho the 6950/70 is still a good card, if you waited this long, you can wait a little longer and have more bang for buck.

5870 is still plenty fast enough in most cases. I'd wait until nvidia releases their new shit in a couple months so you have a larger selection of cards to choose from.

A 5870 is still a fine card, no point in upgrading that just yet.
The PSU you selected isn't particularly good though. Get something like Corsair's HX650, Antec's TP-650, Seasonic X-650 (SS-650KM). All modular, all Seasonic builds. Out of all these Corsair's will be the cheapest, Seasonic the most expensive, with quality varying according to price

PSU isn't bad, just not the best you can get at that price.
Wouldn't be concerned about it.
