Remember my thread back in January.. I was fired after one month. No, you don't? Meh.
Anyway... got a job at the end of April.. in the same IT industry.. as a IT consultant...
Basically, helpdesk for a medium sized company with dozens of PCs, printers and stuff. They also have an AD and Exchange server. The best part is that my employee encourages learning and taking Microsoft exams. I'm currently learning for Windows 7 Configuring.
The sucking comes from the fact that work is 60km away. Commute by train. Anyway... I get up at 6 in the morning...arrive at home at 8 in the evening.
Only the week-end free is too little time!? Life sucks. Somebody change it pls.

i m in the same boat. Good job, but commuting about 65km to get there. I sleep in the train in the morning and read in the evening. It s ok, but yes, a lot of time is kinda wasted and the weekends feel much shorter

I had the same problem, and I moved. Now I'm 5 minutes away by walking, compared to one hour drive in each direction I did before.
Life quality is a lot better. You actually get to do something when you get home, and you don't have to worry about traffic.

I do but I figured there's plenty of room for them in the sewers. Free shelter

I don't own a house right now, but I hope to buy one within a year (I'll rent first). A decent renthouse around here will cost me around 500-600 , while in the big city you'll get a shitty apartment for 800-900. My old supervisor rented a ~40m2 room (living room of a villa) for 950 euros because it was close to the hosptial. As for buying a house, you''ll be paying 200-220k for a big house here while a same quality house will cost you 320-350k in the big cities (I checked).

I'd rather have a good apartment than a house as long as i'm single. Can't imagine doing all the housework alone in a big house compared to a apartment.

I guess as the relationship gets worse, your house needs to get bigger. Sure it is fine if you only see each other a couple of seconds once a day.
Of course there is something as kids, you need stables for them.
Edit: More on topic, much better to live where you work. My finest job, I lived 30 min walk away from work. So that's an hour on foot, but while walking I could observe the city. Loved to walk at 06:30 and see the city awakening while the night folks were rushing home.
