I'm trying to download a file through MIRC but it won't work!

The connection is accepted and established but nothing happens. The meter will stay at 0kb and after 2 minutes I get a connection time-out.
What is prehibiting MIRC from downloading the file???
I have auto-get switched on, auto-get is not limited to trusted users.
I have this with every file I try to download.
Any ideas???

damn, this always worked for me Sad

Go through all the options under DCC. You may have files with certain extensions ignored.

no there's nothing ignored and I have this problem with all bots.
I've tried a new install of MIRC on both my workstation and my server. I don't run scripts at the moment...
Could my router be the problem, should I open and route a certain port to my server running MIRC?
Can't remember having to do that in the past

dont think it has sth to do with the router, didnt have to configure anything on mine... but with all bots this sounds really strange... using firewall? port blocked?

no no firewall and no port blocked?!?!

As I said, the connection si established but the file never reaches me resulting in a time-out.
The file will be generated in my Donwloads folder but it stays 0kb...very weird

well dcc uses other ports than the usual irc. You can set the port range for dcc in mirc. maybe someone on your side is blocking ports

for me is sometimes the hostmask, you must disable it... everytime I do that, your problem just goes away... for example...

on rizon you type -> /mode "nick" -h

on Chatspike you type -> /mode "nick" -x

Etc...

that always fix the problem... Also typing this -> /dccserver +sc on 59

59 is the port number I am using... Very Happy

Good LuckĀ”!
