After patching with ppatcher and running the installers from vengeance update 5 all my half life 2 games crash to desktop at startup. What is causing this? I'd really like to test the dm_depot map for hl2dm but 'cause of this I can't. Please help me.

Why shouldn't I use it? It worked perfect in the past and you don't have to wait weaks for new patches. It is great I would say.

EDIT: It seems I can play the games through steam now. Though I would rather use the emulator because it is way faster.

It seems the installers from update 5 does something wrong with the unpacking of the new files from the newest update. If I start hl2 from steam then steam seems to unpack the files again to a folder with the name of my steamaccount. I then renamed my old folders so steam could load these instead but then I get the same error as the emulators give. Sad
