Can anyone recommend and games you can play on the same screen and not online, my gf and I love to play together but we have run out of co-op games like this ..... rather not have split screen
we already played and loved
Dungeon Siege 3
Dungeon Hunter Alliance
Tomb Raider PSN
Rayman Origins
Portal 2
All Lego games
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2

I really want to play Marvel Super Alliance but can't find 1 or 2 anywhere, really prefer platformer or Dungeon Siege kind of games

Ratchet and Clank all 4 one has same screen local coop. Wink

Fable 2 and 3 has local coop but not a coop campaign.
Lord of the Rings War in the North has local coop but i'm sure if it's same screen (it has to be though, but not 100% sure).

And pretty much all XBLA/PSN games have same screen coop.

By same screen coop are you talking about playing on the same machine or using the same screen surface, ie no splitscreen at all?
Because there are a lot more games with local coop but they split the screen - witch can be annoying for some people.

L.E. Never mind, just noticed the answer to the above in your first post.

Grab all the Lego games, they are great fun whatever your age. I agree with you 100% about split screen its an awful way to play games together.

This is one of very few great couch coop games.

I'm in the same position as OP. Me and my wife like to play coop, but there are so few games that do that properly. It's almost sad.

Few games that come to mind are

Tomb Raider: The Guardian Of Light
Dungeon Defenders (splitscreen but done well)
    Trine 1/2
    Magicka
Obscure 1/2 (great horror action adventure ala Resident Evil)
Deathspank (ok game, but 2nd player doesn't get a full character)
Sacred 2 (great single player ARPG, works ok in coop)
Fable 3 (maybe 2 also, but dont remember if that has coop)

    Little Big Planet 1/2
Cookies and Cream (PS2 game, good luck finding it)

Borderlands (RPG shooter, also splitscreen but very playable)

Check out http://www.co-optimus.com for list of coop games. Look for "couch coop games".

List of 360, PS3 and PC couch coop games sorted by rating.

There are also quite a few good local coop/mp games on XBLA, especially in the indie section. However those are mostly shooters. Can't think of one good RPG.

Oh yeah, LittleBigPlanet! Me and my GF played through both of them, they're great Smile And then you can have fun for hours with the downloadable levels.

Thanks Nerrd, I'll have to hunt for Obscure 1& 2 as she loves survival horror ..... I'd love to have an RPG co-op done like Dragon Quest 8 or 9, you know there are usually 4 in a party so it shouldn't be too hard to make it co-op too......
I got excited to play the Tales of Vesperia game cos I saw it had co-op, but it's single player until ayou have a fight and then 2 players can battle, boring as hell for the 2nd person .....

I have been to co-optimus before, but so many games I just wanted some recomendations on games done well ..... our favourites have definitely been Tomb Raider : Guardian of Light and Rayman Origins

If she doesn't mind 1st/3rd person shooters, RE5 is a great coop game.

Hmmm....Rayman Origins. Didn't play this one and it looks excellent. I guess that is because it's not out on PC yet, and my consoles turned into Netflix boxes. TY for the suggestion.
