Either battery of system fucked up on me outta nowhere. Won't turn on, no red charging light. Tried everything. Will send it to a Samsung shop to see if there's anything they can do but in the meanwhile i wanted to ask wich would be a better phone?

Phones on sight would be either the A52 5G (Similar specs and features but Snapdragon wich's good, but also better things?)

Then the S21 (Exynos tho, but it's got a much better performance at the cost of Audio Jack (i know there's the accessory) and MicroSD)

Any other alternatives that aren't iPhone nor the crappy OS of a Xiaomi?

Uses: Photos, 1080p60FPS vids, gaming, Facebook, Watsapp, etc.. MicroSD and Audio Jack if possible (but i'm also open for alternatives when it comes to the 2 hardware stuff)

Batteries on S4's and upwards to S9's go bad pretty quick, esp. if you're not using a kernel that allows you to set charging limits:

Start charging when it's down to 15%, never let it reach 0% and shut down... charge to a maximum of 90%, never do a full cycle. If you keep doing 0%-100-0% cycles you will wear that battery out very fast. The way charging works is that it stresses the battery, heats it up (which is a batteries worst enemy) and from 90% upward is putting extra stress on those internal cells which makes their ability to hold that charge difficult (or they just stop functioning).

Also, quick chargers will also stress your battery and shorten it's lifespan. There are plenty of apps where you can see the health of the battery. Unfortunately Samsung decided to stop building their phones with screws and started to glue the screens and backplate together, making it very difficult to replace the battery or a cracked screen.

Screen/repair services for phones that are glued together are usually pretty damn expensive since it's a labor intensive and difficult job to do on your own unless you have the experience and skill to do so. Those repair shops have invested in rather expensive tools that makes it easier for them to separate the back and front.

https://techbullion.com/glued-not-screwed-samsungs-change-to-screens-has-reduced-phone-lifecycles-by-50/

My battery health is 78% (ie. that's how much the battery can store.. it's lost 22% of it's capacity). When I first noticed that the battery was starting to lose it's capacity I looked around for solutions. After much reading I learned about the 15%-90% interval which would make the battery last a lot longer as long as I kept the battery between those levels during use and charging. I found the best custom kernel for my S7 and it's accompanying settings app and I've seen the capacity barely dropping in 6 months even with heavy/demanding use. It also helps to charge with the phone powered down (but you'd need to make sure it doesn't charge to 100%) since the battery is further stressed by having the SoC working on something while charging, leading to continual fraction-sized discharge/charge cycles.

I do some mild overclocking (increasing max clocks for the 4 big cores two notches) with very power efficient settings including clever scheduling that only gives me a clock boost when it really needs it. Undervolting the 4 small CPU's as well as the big cores lower stock clocks save battery. I'm overclocking the GPU with another clever scheduler and ramping values.

I use less brightness than the stock settings since the screen (WQHD Super AMOLED) is very power hungry which becomes worse the more brightness you use.

Well, once again, i cannot do a thing with my phone now and seeing how a shop might blast off around 220€ for whatever i don't think it'll sound smart to do in the end (The repair part).

Again, what'd be an alternative to my S7 from what i've said?..

on the s8/note8 and so on there was problem, if you let it drain to 0% and it turns off, it will not boot or charge anymore.

some people report that it will work again, if you try to charge it with cable AND at the same time wireless. for some people it worked to plug in the cable and out again and again and again for 20-30 minutes, like 1-2 times every minute. for others it helped to force restart the device. (volume down and power for like 8 seconds) then some people say it helped using another charger or even a charger with more power.

but like i said this was on the s8 series so it may not help you, still worth a try.

i doubt it's worth the repair in a samsung shop, for that money you can probably get a samsung phone from 1-2 years ago, which i would also recommend. they are cheap and still have enough performance and features. if you want to repair it yourself, it's another story, cause then it will be much cheaper. i see a lot of videos from people who try to fix it, maybe that is something you want to do.

I tried the possible solutions but nothing. Heck, the red light from the phone that says it's charging is not showing up.

The issue is that anything S20 (<- included, also it's variants) and before that are gone from the stores, even refurbished.

S20FE 5G is NOT an option (Even if it's the last S20 variant that it's out there, the camera is awful from what i've read online)

Bloatware and Adware on all apps and menus that you must remove while spending a shit ton of time with such task (even ads from apps you manually DL), forcing you to get the Play Store separately (i think) , also worse photos from what i've seen from a semibald guy called "Tech Spurt" on YT

EDIT: I wanted to just in case make a backup of my MicroSD contents on my external HDD via a , LUCK-KEEEE, had an old MicroSD adapter and a SD reader (Good ol S3 times). Adapter was inside the S7's box and the reader welp, a very old Hama that still worked like a champ.

HOWEVER, whenever i returned the MicroSD into the phone i noticed that the phone was pretty cold and not having a "very tiny heat around the screen's back camera area" and thought "Well, atleast i'll make a proper burying even if it doesn't does shit", so i plugged the charger into the microUSB port and....

...The screen turned on with an all grey white battery icon with the white lightning icon inside, and then the red charging LED turned on again... THE PHONE MIGHT NOT BE DEAD IN THE END!!!!!

Yeah, MIUI from Xiaomi is horrid. Where do you live? Choices depend on that.

Spain, and yeah, that's what i've heard. Horrid. Some people says the POCO X3 PRO is much better but it only has an IPS display that has darkened curves, and somebody used a PS2 emulator with a Dragon Ball Z game in it and it ran worse than the game on a PS2 instead! ..I think

Aaaaaaaand the phone decided to die on me again (When trying to update the apps it was just there in "Pending")

That's it, whenever i can i'll get the A52 5G and call it a day. This phone has served me well for 5 years and 3 months and it was better than S3 without rooting my S7, but this hardware/software issue has gone too far.

Even when the SAMSUNG logo starts lighting up and off slowly it froze and some small artifacts appeard on the screen. It happened twice but then it worked, until whenever i wanted to try and format the entire phone (Again, made a backup of my MicroSD on an extHDD) the phone thought "Nope, can't let you do that" and poof, dead again like before.

Guess the "Security support EOS" finally got hit after all this time (One year and 3 months to be exact since the last security update).. Haven't been attacked nor affected till yesterday.

*Sigh*

Seems like the Devices section in the Download section are pretty outdated. Like below Galaxy S7

Reason it's so cheap is because the CPU's in the SoC are all small cores that are fairly low-clocked and sucks for more intense gaming.

Welp, ended up with the Galaxy A52 5G ABlue.Costed me 20€ less thanks for the No-IVA day and no issues so far..

Formatted the previous one, unlinked it from it's (Google) services, etc. It might probably end up in HELL

New one's Gmail account made all the recent apps re-DL'd in minutes and it remembered old ones that were also useful...Sadly all of my Sudokus have been DELETED (No cloud sync option) but Sonic DASH and other games have been sync'd, along calendar blablabla

Sorry for the tiny off-topic but.... Where can i get a FREE Sudoku game wich has CLOUD SAVING in the Play Store, linkable with Gmail etc?
