Been trying to play this adventure game but it CTDs randomnly way too often. I assume it's cause I'm on Win7 64 bit. Any advice?

i think i played it on xp back then
google told me this about W7 though;

it works fine BUT .... there is a catch the original DOES NOT WORK on DX10/11 sound drivers it crashes the system , get the Director cut version that was redesigned for new OS's and as a bonus they added a epilogue ending ... more like a extra 4h adventure to show what happened to that ehem thing that SCRATCHED Wink

Out in scene 01.06.07 Scratches.Directors.Cut-JFKPC
and then get this patch that fixes a game stopping bug

Unfortunately I am already playing the DC and have edited the cfg(the game doesn't even start otherwise) and have applied the patch. Also compatibilty mode doesn't help. I can play about 5-30 minutes but the game always crashes. These people seem to have the same problem(no solution though Sad ): http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1965205
