So, she was teasing me A LOT in the past months with sentences like "Mmhhhh, a nice ring would look beautiful on this finger" <--while showing me her hand ... and I always told her "Yea, I agree - I hope someday you'll find a moron who gives you that ring" <-while laughing at her ... well, always ends up that I'm getting some beatings and getting tickled xD...
anyway, I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE what to do on the 14th, so I got her this:
...because she likes stuff from "thomas sabo". (it's not that expensive...)
I also wanted to write something nice on a card + buy some red roses and then tell her sister to put the presents into "her" room, so that she would be surprised when she arrives at home that day....
dunno, what do you guys think?

I wish that I could send her some other stuff instead of "just" flowers "again".

nothing beats flowers, balloons, a nice restaurant.
if i had money flow, i'd take my girl to the restaurant in the dark. where you eat in pitch blackness. girls love that shit. but this year just going to do something small... have flowers delivered to her work. buy her a teddy bear. we thought of going to niagara falls, but that went out the window. lol.

there is no harm in asking your girlfriend about her ring size. she'll know she's getting a ring. but she doesn't know which one. y'dig brotha. hopefully, it'll fit  you could've just made her something. or a mix tape lol. i remember the days of mixtapes. then buying a girl a cheap mp3 player, plug it into her speakers and listen to music for a bit. 
but yeah ring is cute, but you gotta do something nice for her too. take her out to dinner or find a concert that's playing on that day. or cirque du solei tickets  they're 50% off till saturday for select events. \o/ i might pick those up but they're way ahead in advance and i've learned through past relationships that you kinda don't want to buy tickets for something months in advance.  unless you're sure it's going to last at least that long. \o/

give her the ring now or a few weeks after valentines days but not on valentines day.

I was doing something handmade for my gf from time to time. Not really creative, just handmade. Didn't do something in a year or so.
That ring looks really nice, tho and unique;) Kinda like companion cube:P. I Can't choose a shit when it comes to jewelery but I also gave her a ring last year (I think) for valentines day and she was happy.
Not engagement ring that is:P My mom will choose that ring when time comes.. or her mom:P
And about that handmade stuff Ive made- Here is some. i havent taken pictures of everything, like small wooden chest etc but that covers most of stuff. Creation time on those item varies, from 6hours to 2 days of polishing. Everything started as block of wood/ plexi.

Ok, here's my two cents:
Don't give the present on the 14th, give it to her on the 13th - a day early, and tell her you don't believe in all this valentine bullshit, your day is on the 13th - just her and you, the rest of the suckers will come a day later. Women like surprises and feeling unique.
Then, don't take her to the restaurant, everyone can do that: instead cook something at your place and put good music on (no, not "get jiggy with it" - more like some good quality instrumental jazz). When she arrives make sure you're still wearing some cooking clothes - make it look like it was a bloody war in the kitchen, which you just won, and are about to offer her the spoils of war. Trust me, even if your food tastes like shit, women love the effort. This truly never failed me.
And the crown jewel of the evening is one hot, passionate, kinky closing, if you get my meaning. Do something creative in bed (there are enough ideas on the net as well) - women love that more than anything else, they're just peer pressured in to not admitting.
