Hey guys,

I recently bought this AverMedia Live Gamer HD capture card to record my gameplay, because I was sick and tired of using fraps and then encode the videos and shit...
and I must say I am 100% satisfied.

The quality is superior, don't let that youtube video fool you. The actual vid I uploaded was really good.

With this card you can capture gameplay & audio & mic in realtime, encode the video in h264 realtime and then write the recording to a mp4 file on your harddisk. I made a 17min+ gameplay vid and the video was just 1.5Gb ready encoded, high quality h264 (12Mbit). No more VirtualDub to merge the 4Gb avi chunks from fraps, no more handbrake to encode to mp4, nothing. And no more framedrop during recording.

Whoever is interested in recording gameplay, I can fully recommend this card.

EDIT:

to give you a comparison of how bad the quality suffers after uploading to youtube...

The original recording as by the software:

...and here the youtube version after being uploaded & processed:

"There will be no end to the troubles of humanity, until philosophers become kings, or kings become philosophers.", Plato.
"Hyperbole will destroy us all.", Matt Dillahunty.
"The hyperbole, the demonization of the other opinion and the unwillingness to even read the opposing opinion destroys the so important political discussions necessary for the well functioning of society.", Couleur

The quality looks very good indeed. I'm looking at the website and it seems you can't record 1080P in 60 FPS?

I use MSI Afterburner instead, it's free uses next to no CPU and everything is encoded and no separate hardware needed.

Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.
