it was released as premium content (pay $5 to download) on Xbox Live a week or so ago. It includes a new city - Paris, with a bunch of new cars (or are they just skins?), and some other stuff. It was a pretty big package even for $5.
What kind of file is it? I would think it would come as a zip that you would extratct to the folders on the hard drive.

hmmm is it 2 downloads? one for the cars and one for the city? or is the city included in the carpack?
edit: and i only have the pgr2game on dvdr, not on hd. how do i put the carpack on the hd so it works together?

i have 3 folders,$c,$u,$y
what do i do with them,although i not looked at the PG2 directory on harddrive yet as i've just formatted pc and not connected up the xbox yet,
is it a copy and replace job,or do you put them folders somewhere

downloadable content is usually tied to the machine it is downloaded on.
if you can get this its either
#1 MS hasent protected it
#2 someone cracked it (not happened yet)
#3 its real, but wont work (diffrent xbox)
#4 it came of a demo dvd / promo disk.

seems to be quite difficult, why else is no single live content released. would be great to get all the live contents as group releases.
