the game stops working after the droid opens a hatch at the fuel pipes. About an hour or 2 into the game. THis is only from HD. i have heard that it works form disc, but cannot confirm it. Im waiting for a HD fix

yes im playing from dvd and i didnt have that problem.
SPOILER AHEAD PERHAPS!
only time a noticed a bug was when i was going to fly off the asteroid (about 6h into the game) and 4 sith made it on to my ship. after i was thru with them and i was going to fly away the charecter got stuck in a loop, where he would sit and press buttons for takeoff over and over and over etc...
i tried to load from auto-save, but still the same. so i played the sith soldiers storming my ship again without letting any of them border the ship a voila now we took off.
other then this game seems really good so far. i also love the republic commando demo. to bad its all the way til march untill its out.

I am about 10 hours or so into the game,
didnt run from HDD, for the droid freezing, but it worked fine from DVDr.
Have passed the bit Nailbiter is talking about hours ago with no problems.
It does seem a little buggy in places, and from time to time the framrate is terrible (but that could be because i only had one low quality DVDrw left to burn it too) but overall from DVD the game is running fine.
Now I just have to wait for the wife to stop watching her crap on the TV so I can continue playing

didnt manage to burn it;P i burned it as a data-dvd on a dvd+rw disc. Buit the xbox won't read the disc. Anybody knows whats wrong?

some xbox have problems with reading rw. i usually burn -r. works best for me.
in nero i just choose burn image and burn it, always works out just fine.

get a power splitter and put the DVD burner in the xbox
not really much of a solution, but if you need to play the game.
I am just lucky I have a mark 2 samsung and it has read EVERYTHING I have tryed in it.

So far I'm ~7 hours into the game, works flawlessly off HD for me, so no freezes or whatsoever...

If you do that it wont work, because you will start with your own character where the droid was killed. You return to the lift where you came from (console where you oppened the supply depo doors). After the screen loads you will start with your dead droid and can't do anything.
Tried it and I thought it worked until you end up as a dead droid again....

EDIT: Oh yah, the Republic Commando demo was pretty cool, the "ordering your dudes around" system is neat, seems to work well.

Dunno mate, I have been on 2 planets (yet to find a Master yet though, just planet hopping and doing sub quests) but I still dont have it yet, did beat a sith though with one

What are the chances of a HDD fix? I'm actually surprised that another group hasn't jumped on this since the Paranoid release clearly has issues from the HDD.
Actually.....anyone know where someone could grab a save game from just after the droid lockup? That would probably work...at least until then next lockup.

for the hdd fix, all you have to do is edit the swdirsXbox.ini file and change d:\ to whatever the path to the game is...it worked for me...

Do you replace every instance of d:\ or just the first?
I actually tried both replacing the first entry (Hdo=f:\)
as well as changing them all....(as shown below) but it still does the exact same thing. Am I screwing up something?
