Ok this is a strange one, how come the NTSC BURGER release:

Had to be CCE downsampled with 3 subtitle sets and one 5.1 audio set.
Yet the just released BAVARIA release:

Can have untouched video and menu with 4 subtitle sets and two 5.1 audio sets. That dutch 5.1 audio is at least another few hundred megs..
Surely this means that although the Bavaria release is untouched, the NTSC retail (I presume retail?) DVDR has altogether better video quality even though it has been downsampled?

I think you're right. It probably means that the bitrate was higher on the R1 NTSC copy ...

not really, in other nfo's concering that release (a play issue fix) from the bavaria release they say its reencoded in the nfo. So probably an nfo error by bavaria.
