Just bought Skullgirls and as I fumbled my way through the tutorial, failing horribly at the more complex ones (chain into launcher air chain special blockbuster, you fucking kidding me?) and after I got my as handed to me in about 18 seconds by the normal difficulty AI I remembered why the last fighting game I played was Street Fighter 2.
BECAUSE I SUCK AT THEM. To no end.
My thumb already hurts from trying to ge the quarter circle back working reliably.
Interestingly I can do a QCF almost every time but backwards? *snort* Sorry, brah.
This is just beyond annoying, from all I've read/seen I thought Skullgirls could be the one to get me back into fighting games.
I'd probably have to sit down for a week and play 6-10 hours each day. Maybe then I'd be at least decent at it.
But it gets frustrating rather quickly if NOTHING you try works. And when I get frustrated I get angry and then it works even less. ARGH.
tl;dr:
Me whining about sucking at fighting games.

I can say right now, you are NOT the only one. I didn't buy that hentai shit game ofc, but i suck at fighting games.

believe it or not, I didn't buy it because of the character design ( though I have to admit the characters are pretty unique in their design - and yes, rather... slutty), but because of some of the design decisions they made.

"Educate myself"? This is what's wrong with kids these days, they believe that playing some game where series of button pushing requires "education". Dude, to anyone that isn't a fighting game fanboi it's all about button pushing.
Not that it isn't a valid fun pasttime, but education does not come into it. And yeah, I've played Tekken 6, SFIV, modern Mortal Kombat, and they're all fucking button mashing games.

The "educate yourself" was in regards to the fact that you believe current fighting games to be nothing more but button mashing games. This, if you want to acknowledge and believe it or not, is not true.
Well they ARE button mashers if you suck at them and don't know what you're doing.
But then you'll get your ass kicked even worse than I me.
