when i played it last year i used the framerate ulocker, and the comunity fix patch. i briefly isntalled the textures mod, but it just didn't fit in the overall loook of the game for me. the colors were too bright for me.
it was my frist playthrough, and it instanlt became one of my favorite games of all time.

hmm okay and for gothic 2, i remember a few years back there was a mod? that gave infinite view, but cant find it anywhere

i don't think a mod is needed for that. ini tweaks increase view distances, try googling for ini tweaks.
IMO though, both gothic 1 and 2 only need the basic community patches that fix framerate and widescreen stuff, the rest is amazing as it is. this isn't elder lol's series, that you need mods to have fun.

There's that console command that removes the fog entirely but I don't remember it at the moment, some test code or such.
