I got the latest version of Starf... v0.83 Beta. I've read most of the posts about StarF on this board but I can't seem to get it to work while lots of people claim they did it. It looks like a great piece of software I just need to make it work Very Happy

Can someone pls write a guide how to make Scrapland work with this particular version of StarF?

Is there an official forum in english for StarF. On their website is one but it's completely in russian.

1. Start StarF, and go to [Preferences].
2. Select where you CDRom(s) is/are located. You can tell where your CDRom is by looking at the ribbon attached to it. If its connected to the ame one as you C: drive then its on primary, otherwise its on the secondary.
3. Select the proper installation directory for both D-tools and Alcohol, or just one of them if thats your case. You will need either one of them to mount the mini-image. [Save Settings], the StarF will close, so start it again.
4. In the main window on the right select the latest version of StarF available.
5. Click on [Patch Blacklist]. If everything went right you should get a report stating how many drivers got patched.
6. Click on [Disable CDRoms]. You should get report stating that CDRoms got diabled. If you look for your CDRom drive in 'My Computer', it should be gone by now. If its still there, or your virtuall drives disappeard than most probably you set up the CDRom location improperly.
7. All you need to do is to mount the mini-image and start the game. Good Luck using this very usefull tool!

Thnx Nerrd but it still won't work. The CDRom got succesfuly blocked and disappeared from "my computer", 2 of 2 drivers were patched but it still fails to identify the disc. Now the only thing I can think of now is that probably my image is not good enough.

It's name: 11.15.04 Scrapland Cd1 Mi Alcoholclone-Nogroup-Eng.mdf, Size: 780MB

Can you please tell me how big is your working image so I can try to find it. Thnx for help.

Make sure your mounting the mini image and not the main install disk.

If the game installed fine then the image is fine.

The StarForce protection has nothing to do with the main image file.
This release was an MI, which means you need to mount the mini image that came with the release rather than the actual install disk.

The mini image should be in a seperate folder and only a few kb small. When mounted using Alcohol or Daemon the disk should contain no files.

Since it looks like (from the filename) yours is a l33t P2P download don't be suprised if the mini image isn't included.

When you will get the idea how it works, you will be able to play any starforce game.
