Shoot Many Robots follows P. Walter Tugnut on his mission to kill as many robots as possible after a factory begins to ominously produce killer robots. With an RV full of guns and beer, gamers will experience a four-player co-op run-n-gun side-scrolling RPG shooter filled with tons of weapon and item customization. Shoot Many Robots will also feature two game modes: Traversal, where players must progress linearly through a level, and Survival, where players fight against waves of robot hordes, delivering hours of robotic carnage and fun.

* The Story: The game stars P. Walter Tugnut, a lovable hillbilly who’s been stock-piling his RV with guns, ammo, and beer awaiting the robot apocalypse. In case you’re wondering, the “P” stands for “Pickles” – but don’t call him that.
* 4 Player Online Co-op: You and three friends can take on the robot armies together, but you’re also fighting each other in what we call “co-opetition”. You need to work together to defeat the hordes of robots, but you’re also competing for the best performance, since at the end of every mission each player is awarded nuts based on how many robots they killed.
* Guns & Gear: Equipping items (like a tutu) affect Walter’s attributes, and some even give him special abilities. Using nuts dropped from dead robots, you can buy bigger guns and better gear – of which there are hundreds to unlock!
* Level Up: Killing robots gives you XP, XP makes you stronger, and the stronger you are, the more robots you can kill. It’s all one big cycle of robot murder.
The controls are clunky but defintely better than on Xbox. Still there are some strange aim snapping as in: sometimes the bullets fly in another direction than you are aiming.
I don't use a gamepad myself but I imagine many find it more comfortable for certain game genres.
Haven't tested or even heard much of this game, saw some screens a few days ago which looked interesting or well the game looked pretty fun that is, might have to see how it is for myself, not much else currently happening.
its hard to tell what the levels are like from the trailer. is it closer to metal slug (run and gun), or is there exploring like sotn/metroid/shadow complex?
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Closer to metal slug. Sometimes there is an illusion of choice - you can go either on upper or lower lever with possibility to go back and take another way to shoot more robots.

I am playing this occasionally with friends on the xbox while drinking. It serves this purpose pretty well, but it's not too exciting and way too grindy and monotonous when playing alone in my opinion.
Levels also start to look very repetitive later on, but leveling up and unlocking gear is fun.
The last difficulty is very hard, you have to farm items for drops or it will be excruciating.
It's a great game, especially for just 10 dollars.
8,5/10 for sure.
ps. you don't want to play this game with a controller, I didnt want to fiddle with xpadder cause I thought it was another indie game I would spent only 1-2 hours with at most, boy was I wrong. The keyboard mouse control are great and the game itself is addictive.
I checked some reviews after finishing this awesome game, to my dissapointment it got rated very bad.
Only console reviews so far, and they all nag about the clunky controls (Not the case with the PC version, thats for sure!). I cant imagine playing it with a controller, it would be too difficult. It's a shame, it deserves some PC reviews and more praise. It's a very polished and badass game for merely 10 bucks.
Can someone please provide a working method to co-op this game via SmartSteam? I have tried the exe's provided by CS.RIN forums but all of them seem to crash directly to the desktop, even with the original steamclient.dll file. Tried with both; THETA and RELOADED release, but not sure how to invite anyone to the game.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
