A while ago, I installed libusb on my system (needed it for a device). Now I got rid of libusb, and all of my USB hardware stops auto-detecting. I have to restart my PC just to get a USB device to recognize. You can imagine this becoming a problem, especially given the fact that I have a PDA with a cradle that needs to dock all the time.

If anyone knows how to get rid of this crap without a reformat or a reinstall of Win, I appreciate the help.

Thx.

Specs:
P4 2.4 GHz CPU, overclocked to 2.6
ATI Radeon 9600Pro/128 video, overclocked
512 MB PC3200 DDR
80GB Hard Drive, IDE
WiFi addon on an Asus P4PX800 mobo
NEC DVD Burner
USB KB/mouse, storage device (flash reader), and WINCE3.0 pda attatched constantly.
Windows XP Pro, no SP's/updates installed

I would suggest uninstalling the USB hardware in device manager, rebooting and reinstalling it. See what that does!

It's not installed in DM. It's a hack that allows a one-time-use digicam to be reused, and it required manual installation of libusb.

I'm talking about your USB controllers Razz not devices. You will find them at the bottom of Device Manager; the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers".
