Maybe, but it might have something to do with Indian traditions and culture. In my country, we have a certain ethnic group - originating from India - that by tradition perceives a chubby man as a wealthy, successful individual, worthy of respect. By contrast, a lean, fit man is seen as a lesser person, presumably poor and unworthy of respect.

Dude Ankh is right. It is just comedy. Nothing serious there! You're way overthinking it. There is no tradition or culture thing here. Plus, this is a clip from Tollywood and not Bollywood. Tollywood is the South-Indian version of Bollywood.
So yeah, before you think of any more weird things like that get them out of your head! This is just a comedy movie and that ethnic group is a minority. No one here thinks like that. We all know its better to be thin and lean rather than be on the wrong side of the sliding scale.
