over dubstep, really.

I've been to a small festival here in Luxbg. the last two days, and I must say, dubstep, when done well goes along really good with weed and alcohol (at the end of the day). But it has to be very good for it to work. I still wouldnt listen to it privately and I still despise the use of it in every other youtube clip.

It's just like most other forms of music; when done WELL and PROPERLY, it can be excellent. Sadly the decent stuff is few and far between :\

i (used to ?) love dubsteb, but it has been several months already since i been to a dubstep .. night .. thingy .. whatever you call it. There we're occassions, but i think i grew a bit tired of it (i HATE the lame dubstep remix of "popular" songs. And sadly, most places, do that crap only. I love real, life dj set, self performing djs with proper, unremixed, dubstep.

But thats rare.

Last year, Di Muggs was here, where i work, together with Qbert (turntable genius) with his is new set. And damn he shocked me. the DJ of CYPRESS HILL (Dj, Producer), doing REAL, FUCKING, DUBSTEP lol.

love that guy hehe (+ he is as real as it gets, no star wannabe or anything, both time here was here, he shakes everybodys hand, no matter who you are (he comes to you, not just when people come to him). After he is done with his set, he doesn't just leave. He rolls his spliff, shares it whoever is there, then goes into the hall and watches the dj after him. And when he finally leaves, again, he shakes everyone the hand.

I grew up with cypress hills, i love, ney, adore them and its always so nice, to see them like this in real life (because of my work, i see a LOT of musicians, bands, artists etc, you wouldnt believe the kind of arrogance and braindead bullshit i came across lol.

even started a tradition lol, new oic every 2 years ^^ (so far, 2009 and 2011 Smile )

What dubstep artists do you like couleur?

I have no idea, lol. I just experienced (I've heard it before, but I never had much interest) it for the first time two days ago. It was 3 am, I had a lot of THC and alcohol in my blood and I found it fucking awesome. The whole festival is more about smaller Metal and Rock bands from our region, so the dubstep was more a finisher at the end of the day.

I dont know if it was quality, but I had the impression that it was on the same level as, like DJ Rush (maybe not that good) for techno fans. I didnt recognize any remixing of popular songs either.
