Posted: Tue, 14th Jan 2014 00:40 Post subject: NFO Seasonal Game Ressurection (NSGR) Thread. |
|
 |
Hi all,
I was thinking: how about NFO members pick an old game that they like to play every season.
We have spring, summer, autumn, winter.
Every 3 months NFO members are voting for a game from the past they all wanna play - NFO members only!
I was thinking old-school FPSes mainly (e.g: UT99, UT2004, QW:ET, WS:ET, ...), but basically, if this thread & it's idea flies we can make anything out of it, really.
The only person I told about this yet was Pumpy and he was not against it and told me how they used to regulary play BF:BC2 or Zombie Panic, CS, etc. you know, just board members.
Why not try and pull this off, maybe this thread will take off.
So many good games & memories of good games, but noone's playing anymore and public servers (if any) suck ass.
Obviously we would need a dedicated server to rotate the games on, but I don't think that would be a problem if few members chip in, and even if not, I personally have nothing against it to pay server rents/fees for other members who can't, aslong as the idea and willingness to join old-school games by NFO members is there.
I'm sure other will think alike.
To clarify: I'm not intending to start another NFO Clan, NFO has it's official BF faggots community that I don't wanna mess with. What I intend is purely NFO internal closed-circle retro-gaming, that rotates seasonally, based on voting.
So what do you guys think about that?
Yay or nay? Or gay?

Good thought Paxsali
Yay,
This is the post I have been waiting for to bring me outta hiding. I have been on these boards for a long time. I became a member during the Tribes Players Suck days but haven't posted in awhile.
I would gladly plop down 10-20 bucks a month towards getting this started even more if it's the going rate.
My Vote Tribes or Tribes 2

I have been a member since about 2001. Look at my join date 1969 I think it says. I don't feel the need to explain myself. I was just trying to show some support for what looked like a good idea. BUT, if this is just for people who post a thousand times a day and I have to learn the shortbus club house handshake and eat the soggy biscuit for initiation you can kiss my ass. How long you been here a year? I think the NFOWalmart needs another greeter cause this one is scarin away the customers.
That's who I am

As I was an active pirate up until lately, my one and only question:

r6, ut, quake2.
im down for this. short on funds. but i'm down.
though if someone has not played ut in a long while and played cods and what not... the change of pace would be dramatic. i suggest we set up a live webcam feed while we all play for the first time
QW:ET sucked.
WS:ET I'm down for. if modded hls... dod, cs, FA etc... but original hl with the good netcode
I like this idea. I'm in the middle of moving my PC onto somewhere with a desk...
so I'd be down
Just nothing rts/racing/sim like. too time consuming.
