Hey folks, I have a request of you guys. We're doing a LAN party night today, and we don't have the usual numbers sadly, only 6 of us. So we won't play as much shooters, and would instead want to play some co-op games, and I was thinking things like dungeon defenders, but what other 6 player co-op games do you know of, especially if it is a top-down perspective and different classes/roles?

Thanks in advance for the tips.

List of PC LAN games supporting 6 or more players, sorted by rating

Slim pickings especially since you said no shooters. Terraria? Should be super fun with friends only. Dins curse is very cool too, if you can get over the shitty visuals. Other then that the only thing that comes to mind, especially since you mention "top-down" is Realm of the Mad God. A free to play MMOARPS (massive multiplayer online action role playing shmup, yeah i just made it up). It's flash based so you can try it out quickly to see if you like it. It's fun and addictive. Good luck!

Titan Quest (maybe with mods, too). You probably won't get that far, but you can always continue playing after the LAN too. 6 just happens to be the max players, too.

Thank you for the tips. Sadly, we didn't find anything new, that we all liked. (we ended up being 12 at the end of the nigh anyway Cool Face ).

We fired up trusty UT2004, and had a fucking blast from the past. Seriously, that's like the best or second best multiplayer shooter ever made, and beats the shit out of modern shooters. Yes, I know I sound like a broken record, and have said this a thousand times already - I just have to vent my frustration in regards to modern games.

I agree ut2004 or ut3 are still my favorite shooters
the whole "call of modern battlefield 3" genre doesn't do it for me.

Yeah, I think arena shooters of old would be very fresh, I wish some exec saw it that way as well Sad Of course it's a strictly PC market, because, you know, it's physically and mentally too taxing for the console generation.
