Great games all of them. If only games these days would bring me the same memories as that of X-Com, Strife, Day of the tentacle, sam & max, monkey island, carmageddon, darklands and many more did.
Huh just found a huge error in the list. OMF 2097 was great and fun yeah, but that game didn't even have any scrolling! A MUCH better robot fighting game was Rise of the Robots 2: Resurrection. The first RISE was terrible, but don't mix them up
And there was also the FANTASTIC Body Blows!
Hell even Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 Ultimate were DOS games, and they were better too!
Oh no you didn't!! OMF2097 is one of my all-time favourite games and by FAR one of my best fighters Body Blows was fucking pants compared to OMF... and to even speak the name of that monstrosity of a series, Rise of the Failbots ...
I said pants COMPARED. It was an "okay" fighter on the Miggy (a lot of Miggy/DOS titles actually had far better versions on the Amiga) but nothing came close to OMF. The music, the visuals and the one thing a lot of SF clones never got to grips with (including Body Blows) was that OMF actually had a feeling of weight to it, rather than that floaty feeling most other fighters had, especially hit connection.
Of course, this is just my opinion and taste... I'm a huge OMF fanboy <3
---- oh and I had a NeoGeo as well I got one when I was 12, traded my Amiga 500 for it even though it only had four games Samurai Shodown <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

The best thing that OMF had, was the feature that you could actually set the feel of hits in the options yourself, by setting the value for freeze after hit, it gave really good hit feedback
Besides, Garou wasn't out at the time. It didn't come out until 1999, a good 5 years after the classic DOS generation. Back when OMF was doing the rounds on the PC, Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting was kicking ass in the arcades

Personally I always loved the tournament and customisable bots, it gave a feeling of progression not usually found in fighters. You could even mod it and create your own tournaments
I remember all those glorious times.. haha I even remember my Brother playing Vixen PC (can't find a good screen, just porn ), and I asked him how to pronounce it and he said it's pronounced Vincent, because Vixen actually sounds like the german word wichsen (masturbate) Strangely I don't remember if that game was any good
Hahaha, I remember that... it was a terrible game if I'm not remembering incorrectly http://bit.ly/OQt7Tv First link! Remember the old Amiga game Bomb'X?
Naughty games? DOS had them too... the terrible DOOM clone: Immoral Cumbat hahaha
xD
LMAO!! Awesome stuff Immoral Cumbat sounds so much like crappy SF clones on the Amiga; Fruit Fighter II Turbo GTi XL 4x4 and Mortal Kumquat III I also did some checking on MK3 and it turns out the DOS versions is superior to the Windows one!
@zmed
You're welcome, man, I've had a blast just remembering HALF of those games. Good times. Or not, apparently, they weren't good times at all... I'm just being a rosy-glasses wearing nostalgic fool
Got most of those
I still can't understand why all these 'gamers' on youtube showoff their collections and all there is is snes, psx, ps2 and 360 or ps3 games. Look at that guy petedorr for instance "Hey let me introduce you to rpgs" /goes on to talk about jrps for 30minutes without ever even mentioning Ultima, Baldurs Gate, Fallout, Wasteland, Lands of Lore, Realms of Arkania, or countless others that should be mentioned.
Instead he an others focus on Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Xenogears "which to be fair is good but pales in comparison to the pc titles" and maybe some oddity like Beyond the Beyond.
Oh you want to play a tactical game, what about Front Mission?
How about trying out X-Com you noob.
Played so much of those games !
Some are very obscure to make it to that list but anyway
3080, ps5, lg oled
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
Nice list, but it's missing some golden games! Where's my Quarantine for example?!
Now that we've got this, let's see if one of you can help me figure this one out. There's a game I just can't remember the fucking name of nor all the details. Set in the future, top down view (or maybe it was isometric, not sure). You're a cop or bounty hunter or something, drive through the city in a futuristic vehicle (not sure if it even was a car ) to catch bad guys. Story was fairly standard, you get fucked over by your girlfriend or something at some point.
I fucking loved that game and I can't remember the damn name
