Hammerpoint Interactive has announced a new MMO game that is inspired by the amazing DayZ mod of ArmA 2. The War Z is a survival horror MMO zombie game that promises to immerse players in a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic world in which a viral outbreak has decimated the human population leaving, in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportion.

Wouldn't it be reverse?
(Since the player is usually the one that gets screwed in these types of games.)

Probably best not to think too much about it. Razz

That 2nd shot looks like Homefront. It's not bad looking.. but I want to see gameplay and read more actual info before I get too interested. I do like the idea though -- I'm just not keen on the whole "you have to work together to hunt" bit, you know me guys ... lone wolf, lol.

I think this will be as successful as Codemasters' version of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

Remember the huge success of that title?

Yes, yes I'm back.

Yes, you can. We're not there yet, but it's not that far either. Also, what's with the CoD visual "style"?!

Very Happy

I'm still interested in it, mainly because zombies + RPG = happy Sabin and there's far too few of those games.

The sequel was even worse, much worse. It was my fastest shift-delete ever. I don't think this one will reach the amount of failure of that "game", but yeah, I'm not expecting anything mind blowing either. Razz

As sabin said, gameplay > screenshots.

Not going to decide if i should buy without seeing some actual gameplay.

The said some time ago that shooting will be similar to the one seen in 'modern shooters', I hope it's BF3 and not MW3. Laughing

Screenshots look good, but that means nothing. DayZ is unplayable because of the animation jerking, lighting flashes, object going through surface and such. Just walking seems off. We will see on video if they fixed anything or not.
