Death Rally is back on the PC - the place where we started it all!
Following the amazing success of the iPad version, we spend the last few months hard at work on what so many of our fans wanted - A return to the PC where Death Rally debuted from almost 18 years ago.
This was in no small part to all the discussions that have been taking place here - on our message boards!
So what is new ?
The PC port of Death Rally will include an optimized interface, improved visuals, customizable controls as well online multi-player and leaderboards.
To thank all our PC fans for their patience and support we are also including a new track , for even more hours of racing mayhem!
Stay tuned - screenshots and a trailer are soon to follow.
Dead Rally will be available via Steam starting August the 3rd.
Tried the android version and it is horrible, but that's because of controls.
The cars don't have handling at all, the only skill needed is managing the controls (steering with you're thumb on a screen), and that is quite hard to do though.
Anyway, the pc version should be a lot different for this to be any good.
But:
"

A shame, i had high hopes at first.

the iphone version is not bad..but really not great either. the "adversary" race is cheap as hell.
The adversary is basically:
much faster than the fastest upgraded card
has 10x the armor of any standard enemy
What do you do with that? nothing.
The only time I beat it were when the race glitched and turned him into a regular opponent who took regular damage from weapons.
There was a glitch in one version where if you minimized a started adversary race, and then came back into the game, sometimes the adversary would take normal damage.
Otherwise you can unload the most powerful weapon into him as he pulls away, use all your ammo and do like 30% damage.
He'll pull away and you'll spend 5 laps trying to get ammo and then just turn around and try and face him, because you absolutely will never catch him unless you get several nitro boosts in a row.
Even the missiles are useless against him. Normal enemies are slowed by missile hits, he loses no speed making it so there is basically no weapon or strategy to help you defeat him.
it pretty much ruined the entire game for me at that point.

it was similar in old Death Rally - never had problem with this

How can you not have a problem with this?
You unload all the ammo in a fully upgraded best weapon, do 30% damage, and then he pulls away so you can't target him anymore..
how exactly do you propose anyone beats him? you can't kill him or slow him down and even in the best upgraded car he seriously outpaces you pulling out of weapons range in less than half a lap..
Nitro drops are random, and you'd basically need a constant stream of nitro and ammo drops which you don't get.
Erm, in the PC version you could outrun him fine. Just had to drive perfectly for 9 (I think) laps without missing a single boost. Ah the good old days

Clearly different and not "similar to old death rally" as claimed. It's completely broken, so hopefully if they port it, they fix that. I tried bringing it up on their forums but no one really seemed to care.. it's a story mission but apparently no one is doing the story mission or something.

Was listed on Gamersgate today, seems it's about 530 MB and will cost around 8 Eur/GPB/USD or some such.
(And as stated above it'll be released this Friday.)
Anyone else having problems using the PC gamer code to buy this from GMG? It takes the code, but is not working for my Pay Pal or debit card... Trying to find out if there is a problem with my card, but thought I'd ask here while I check on it.
