Hi guys,

I just read this in the news.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/25/the-joystiq-indie-pitch-resonance/

Looks kinda interesting and the artwork is actually appealing for an indiegame.

I miss the Monkey Island and Indiana Jones style adventures...

Yeah it should be quite a good adventure game, I have it via Desura but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

There's also already a thread for the game. Smile

(It hit Steam just recently but has been available via GoG and Desura for a while now.)

No, the publisher is the same i.e Wadjet Eye games but both the games have been made by different people. xiii games made Resonance and Gemini Rue was made by Joshua Nuernberger.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

IMO, it's one of those indie games that surpass AAA titles by big publishers. Best adventure of the year so far.

Graphics look too shit to me, there is no reason why an artist really has to go that crappy these days. We want to move up, not down.

Well considering you think Sleeping Dogs has "2002 visuals" -- I don't think many people will be using you as a benchmark for what is "shit" and what isn't Very Happy Personally? I really dig the visuals in games like Resonance and the Blackwell Legacy, they've got that classic Lucasfilm oldschool vibe going on... and I'm a sucker for sprites anyway.

Sleeping Dogs has circa 2006 visuals!

This game looks like a Lucas Arts adventure, and that is awesome.

Yeah well, 2002 might be a bit early but it's absolutely close, Sleeping Dogs looks like shit graphical wise. Regarding this game, I don't really have a problem with bad graphics (I played Minecraft a lot and still play some other old titles now and then), but that's because they are old games, new games should try to get a new style which has the same feeling as old games, this is absolutely possible and there is no need to make it look this bad. I almost immediately got a feeling that this game might have not much to offer besides this 'special' low-res graphics. Maybe I';m wrong with this one, haven't played it yet.

I'm of the opposite opinion, I don't think progress should be made simply for the sake of it -- there are plenty of adventure games out there with gorgeous visuals and that doesn't automatically mean that nobody should have Lucasfilm-era visuals on other games Smile

I think you should consider to stop bashing the game because you will probably feel stupid after you played it.

This is a low budged project done mainly by one person using the AGS engine, which doesn't allow any better visuals than that but is popular among indie adventure developers that don't have programming skills.

I detest early 3d graphics like psx, couldn't play any of those games, graphically find them like vomit, but old and new 2d games with right artistry I can play them in 1990, now, and probably in 2050

that game and gemini reu are the 2 best adventures of the past years. the VGA resolution is on purpose and has agreat charm, anything in HD in 2D either goes comic style or real life screen captures

Just saying.

As in use text walkthroughs instead because they're not as spoilery(most of the time).
