I would love to see a dumbed down version of FM to be honest. FM is to grindy/nerdy for my taste now. It all went downhill after FM 00 for me.
What i want:
A staff of max 5 people
Only one youth team
No interviews and press conferences.
No training shedules.
More basic tactics focused on positions (so that you don't have to copy tactics from a forum where some guy dit a 1000 match run to perfect theirs.)
no 10+ instructions per player.
And buildings with upgrades that are visualised. Not because it's realistic but I like that stuff in management games.
Good to see its called 'football' and not bloody soccer!
Pro Evolution Soccer really shot itself in the feet with that name. As far as I understand only 3 big countries use that word - USA, Canada and South Africa. First two don't have large enough fan base for the sport to attract high sales as Konami initially hoped and the third is too poor to buy games. Which is why they finally rebranded the game to "eFootball PES". Which now sounds like some cheap cashgrab mobile game

Aren't there options in the game to remove some of these, like the interviews? I only shortly played FM2005 and barely remember anything but I think there were different settings for playing it?

You can have your director of football or whatever take care of staff.
You don't need to bother with the youth teams if you don't care, most teams only have one, the under 23 is mostly a reserve team and you don't need to bother with it.
You can assign interviews and confereces to the assistant manager.
You can assign training schedules to the assistant manager.
The most basic tactics are fairly solid anyway, you really don't need to change much to win most leagues/cups.
You can use managers and whatnot for that stuff, basically turning it off. I stopped playing FM two years because they went overboard with the media stuff IMO. Very repetitive and predictable, just like real interviews with football people.

Off course. But I you feel like a casual
But serious, it's hard to turn all that stuff off cause as a player you will do better then the AI. But at the end most of the stuff they have added over the years is not fun, it's a grind. Realism shouldn't be a goal in a management sim. I played motorsport manager this year. It's gamey as fuck and has nothing to managing a f1 team. But it offers fun races and you have a dozen or so things to do with descisions that matter. And your staff is just 3 drivers, a designer, 2 race engineers (and some mechanics but they are filler). It's barebones but it works.
In FM you have a 100+ staff to worry about, it's a grind.
I still honestly think EA's Fifa Manager series was the best series. Loved making my own team from scratch and getting them up in ranks.
Hopefully this one delivers similar experience.
This one is made by the same people that also made FIFA Manager, and is indeed the exact same experience they are going for
nice to hear, hope they dont over complicate it, the fifa one was and still is great, still have 13 installed for a few years, i think its the last; and still remember the hassle pirates had with the old versions, when you were sacked after the first season no matter what
well on the steam hub someone said just the german leagues has the licensing, in that case, fuck it, unless its moddable ofc
