already ran a search for both these games and didnt come up with my problem so im guessing im the only one experiencing them...so here goes.
farcry - 'Cooler' level when you need to save val as an objective...problem is, nothing happens there. no enemies, no nothing, she just keeps runnin around and im left clueless. updated to v1.3 and still notta.
splinter cell: pt - i'm sure theres a simple solution to this problem and i havent thought of it cause im thinking too hard. i install the game, run it and get the general protection error. ubisofts support says i need to disable virtual drives or uninstall the program itself to be able to play and i've tried both solutions and none have worked. quite irritating.
btw, both are group releases. please help. thanks.

do you have clonecd installed? if so remove it from task tray. ctrl+alt+del the running clone cd app or select close. Clonecd caused this error many times and people thought it used to be cd emulation shit
i don't know about farcry i never got that far
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

I agree with Injurious, clonecd can sometimes cause these kind of problems. But I remember that when PT released, I tried to make the game play without cd, but all of the nocd solutions released were seem to be bugy. Even immersion's crack with the release was bugy too, so deviance released a crack fix. I combined all of them, updated the game, and several tries later I could play the the game without cd. Now the game works perfectly on xp, also with sp2. I am still keeping my combined nocd installer if you interested in...
I have no idea about the problem you have with the farcry, sorry.

I've heard about people with the same FarCry problem as you have and I think the only solution is to replay the entire level.
Atleast try to load the game from a previous checkpoint.
