King was one of my favorite back in the days. Can't remember if she was in '98. Well, something to dig.

And, yeah. Bloody SNK did some mean fighters. I kind of miss Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury series.

Funny. Those are my favorite fighters, too! Very Happy

My dream team. Plenty of women in KOF, but that team was quite versatile.

You know, what's even funnier?! I play Mai mainly because it usually has some simple, but effective moves. The eye candy it's a bonus.

Street Fighter was Chun Li and Cammy, Soul Calibur was Ivy, the more recent Tekken was Lily. In Mortal Kombat i played a lot with Sonja, Mileena and Kitana (hell in MK2 i had even a couple of unintended combos for Kitana)

What those ladies have in common?! They are easy to play.

I tend to gravitate towards female fighters too, mostly because they're quick pokey characters and often grossly underestimated \o/

SF: Chun Li, Sakura + Juri,
SNK: Mai, Yuri, King, Nakoruru + Charlotte
Tekken: Asuka + Lili
Soul Calibur: Sophitia, Cassandra, Taki + Shura
Dead or Alive: Hitomi
Skullgirls: Filia, Valentine + Ms Fortune

I'm also an absolute sucker for Shoto-style characters, so the likes of Akuma/Ken/Ryu/Dan, etc.

Charlotte from Samurai Showdown. Hell, yeah!

I really need to replace the buttons and the joystick on my PSP's.

And Sophitia + Hitomi. Yup, also my favorites.

it is the best in the series, but if it the netcode is anywhere as bad as in xiii on steam, it will be unplayable as well.

the only acceptable ways to play the old sf and kof games online are still ggpo and mame.

They released one every year until 2003 ish?

The King of Fighters '94 (1994)
The King of Fighters '95 (1995)
The King of Fighters '96 (1996)
The King of Fighters '97 (1997)
The King of Fighters '98 (1998)
The King of Fighters '99 (1999)
The King of Fighters 2000 (2000)
The King of Fighters 2001 (2001)
The King of Fighters 2002 (2002)
The King of Fighters 2003 (2003)
The King of Fighters XI (2005)
The King of Fighters XII (2009)
The King of Fighters XIII (2010)

And that's just the primary connected series, not the spin-offs or remasters .. like KoF NeoWave (2004), KoF Maximum Impact (2004) or KoF 98 Ultimate Match (2008) And dozens more. To say this is a "popular fighting series" would be a hilarious understatement Very Happy

Who cares. Why they have to tap on the same game for 16-17 fucking years? Make a new one. Now if you tell me that they can't make a good one, I might be inclined to believe you. Laughing But when done right, aka MK, then the old ones, while still fun, hold no candle to it. Smile

And they just milking it. I'd love one of these old games with updated 4K sprites. But no, let's release some old blur, slap extra subtitles on it and sell like hotcakes from idiots that bought all the versions until now. Mad

They are good games, I know you don't like "JapShit" but that doesn't negate the fact that the KoF series is held in such high regard for a reason Smile I'm not keen on the "yearly refresh" stuff though, like they do with fucking CoD or sports titles, which is why I stick to the same few; KoF 98 (16 years old now and still played at the biggest fighting tournaments), KoF XII and XIII --- or even the glorious "Garou" \o/

True... so true Sad KoF XI/XII/XIII were the perfect chance to really show a HD version of KoF but instead the sprites look blocky/pixellated on top of gorgeous HD backgrounds. Such a waste.

I think I liked KoF back in the day on SNES emulators. But that's not the point. If there was a "Mortal Kombat 2 Ultimate Ultra Final Cut Maximum XXX Total Ultra Mega Final Fatality Edition Babality Special Friendship Edition", I'd say the same thing.

But JapCrap derpelopers are notoriously known to do this shit in their stupid games.

Haha, sorry.. JapCrap Very Happy I do agree with you about the yearly refresh though, it's almost as bad as Capcom and their fifteen versions of Street Fighter 2 Laughing

i know this will annoy you, but the fact is that this japcrap as a fighting game offers much more depth than all the derpal kombat games put together Laughing

it doesnt matter though, chances are 100 to 1, that its gonna have a shitty fucking netcode and be unplayable Sad

Just becuase KoF is a more indepeth SF zeel dosn't mean it takes less skill then Mortal Kombat. MK is more twith oriented while KoF/SF is more Muscle Memory oriented. I'm with Natan on this one. If GGPO didn't suck so much I wouldn't have bought this game.

I just dont get why companies are still stuck in the 90s thinking this is the arcades with no network capabilities. They can rerelese the same game with bug fixes and add "turbo 2 remix edition" and sell it for full price when it could just be released as a FREE PATCH. But too be fair KOF98 is only on PC for GGPO which is very unstable especially when its active.

PC Specs: A Maganavox' Odyssey
Tweaked to play Frogger, Lemmings & GTA4

Problem is it will not let you change any keys when the controller is plugged in, they all assign 1-7 as the attack buttons no matter which key you press except for G, K and Q.

Posted on steam forums got banned for saying Emulator and Rom are superior to this pos.

Any discussion of piracy will result in a permanent ban from the Steam Community including, but not limited to: Cracks, Key generators, Console emulators.

I do own the original cart for 98 so I told the dev to go fuck himself.
