I play alot of pc games - and about 90% of the time its turn based strategy I play - but really I am only playing them, when I cant get some buddies over for boardgaming.

Ive gone from Risk and Stratego in my youth to Axis and Allies, then Warhammer Fantasy Battle and Blood Bowl and now more the likes of Runewars, Combat Commander: Europe and Here I stand.

Any other boardgamers here?

My friends and me started to play BSG board game this summer. We're still getting to know the game, but had a blast playing so far. We even bought both expansions, but haven't tried to play them yes as they complicate gameplay considerably.

Ankh Morpork - me and my wife are loving it.
The Descent - if you have time and at least 3 more people who have time - it's fucking awesome.
And some card games for fast play - Blood Bowl Team Manager, Dominion (+ expansions).

This summer Descent 2.0 came out and I would have bought it - but in this game the characters dont die (!?) and the players get to see the whole scenario before you play.
I like my dungeon explorer games, to have an element of exploration and despair Smile

Btw I recommend Runewars - it has alot of elements in it (war, questing and bidding).

What? You never played a computer game more than 3 hours at a time?
Last sunday I played "Here I Stand" for 11 hours straight - now that was a bit too long Smile

Talisman. I have been playing this since 1985. The newer 4th Edition is great. I have had a game with 4 other players last over 8 hours.
