Sennheiser definitely has the best sound quality for the money (open ear and non-3d), but you've got to be VERY gentle with them. Logitech's and Creative's are pure shit, Razor overpriced shit. I've always gone back to Sennheiser 151's , 161's. I know I wasn't much help, but there it is.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I've got a pair of HD595's. Love them. That's all.

AKG has really nice headphones, I'm very happy with my K242. They have a pretty large selection:

Home versions offer extreme fidelity are in general better for classical, rock and in general non-electronic music. They're also good for movies/gaming. Be careful not to go for the very expensive models as you will need really high quality audio files if you want something to sound good on those as they tend to reproduce compression errors as well.
If you're more into electronic music go for the DJ headphones, they have much stronger bass and are in general more powerful.
(Although technically mine cost 230pounds, so I'm not sure of the sound quality of cheaper models)

I have AKG K240, and they are a killer, altho I'd need a proper sound card because the impedance is very high on the one I own...

Definitely need a proper sound card yeah...amplifier too because mine can't be fully driven without one, and that's the case with all better models.

Yep, the sound is great, but I need to cranck up the volume to hear stuff :\
But since sound card isn't on the top of the list of hw priorities...
