Not worth it. You can get more players in fucking counter strike.

Looks and sounds awesome. I don't mind that it isn't re-inventing the series, as 42 is still a great game, to me. Hopefully it doesn't get delayed as much as Heroes has been...
Also, since it's download-only, I'm really hoping for a Steam release, as I'm not a fan of EA's digital store, presently...

It's a damned shame there's only 24 players (as opposed to 64 in the original BF1942) but I don't think it'll kill the game. It was hard enough finding 64 players on the PC version :-\

Not saying you need exactly 64 players but max 24 is just bad. At least make it 40-48 since it's max players you don't need to play with that many if you don't want to.

We can't even blame consoles for this either, as both the 360 and PS3 have more than enough RAM to cope with large games (BF1942 had a recomendation of 256MB for 64 player matches)

It just comes down to smart thinking from EA.
More games with less content and work = more money
BF:Heroes, BF:BC2, BF1943 and the other BF game for Korean market = $$$

It was a shame BF:BC didn't hit the PC too, as it really is an awesome game. Fun SP and a great MP side too, though still nowhere near the greatness of BF1942 (BF2 sucks ass)

This is a a huge step back for Battlefield series. BF1942 was fucking legendary: 64 players servers (it was revolutionary at that time), tons of huge maps, huge battles. Now, many years later we get 24 players and 3 small console friendly maps. What a joke

Don't think ill be butt hurt because we can't get 64 people in the same map. Honestly who would want to be on a team with 31 other retards who don't communicate.

You see, EA destroys their own franchises. Classic example is Need for Speed. Nobody has any respect for that series anymore, and thats a lot of potential sales down the drain.
Now we are looking at the battlefield franchise; like said, less work more releases = more money. The problem is that only works in the short term.
I expect EA to run into big financial trouble in 5-10 years, (possibly earlier but they are so big its hard to tell) when all their respected brand names lose all that respect and their easy sales don't come so easy anymore.
