If the 8Gb one will be 300$ here, you can count one me getting it. Not that the Nexus is not good, that Snapdragon S4 and Adreno 320 paired with 2 gigs of RAM on the Nexus 4 make it VERY appealing.
EDIT: Myeah, nevermind, gonna be sold at ~480 euros without a contract here.

Google Head Of Android User Experience Explains The Lack Of SD Cards For Nexus Devices
Quote: | Why don’t Nexus devices have SD cards?
Everybody likes the idea of having an SD card, but in reality it’s just confusing for users.
If you’re saving photos, videos or music, where does it go? Is it on your phone? Or on your card? Should there be a setting? Prompt everytime? What happens to the experience when you swap out the card? It’s just too complicated.
We take a different approach. Your Nexus has a fixed amount of space and your apps just seamlessly use it for you without you ever having to worry about files or volumes or any of that techy nonsense left over from the paleolithic era of computing.
With a Nexus you know exactly how much storage you get upfront and you can decide what’s the right size for you. That’s simple and good for users. |
That's just like dumbing down games for facebook gamers. If person cant differentiate between two storage folders showing up on their computers, they should not get smartphone in a first place duh. And saying it's difficult is just so
anyway I might get 16GB version if money allows iit, kinda short on it these days

Nah that's bullshit. They want you to use the cloud and their playstore services. That's pretty much the reason they sell their devices so cheap. They want everyone to have an android no matter what.

Fuck Cloud system when a 4G internet is fucking rip-off. 5GB for $50? I can use that in a day listening to radio. I hate how much phone companies charge for internet.
And what would be the point of getting smartphone without internet? *shrug*
And to connect to cloud you need internet service, unless I am missing something?

There's nothing "simple and good" (as that Google PR muppet tries to spin) about restricting, and removing, choice. "You know exactly how much storage you get up front" -- yeah? You know that even on devices that have SD slots. What the user does with the EXTRA option of an SD card should be up to them not Google. I hate this ridiculous bandwagon of fixed storage devices, it was irritating when Apple did it and it's sickening to watch other companies copying them .. and it sure as hell isn't for the good of consumers either.

Well there are other phones without those limitations, I get that some people find no expandable storage bad but like I said, they have a specific reason to sell phones with limited storage.

That statement about storage is silly. The Nexus still has an option asking whether I should install to "Default" or "External Card", where the external card is the included storage.

to keep it in perpective, 4.7" over 4.0/4.3 really isn't that much bigger when measured over the diagonal; unless you squash the horizontal ratio and have a 'slitty' screen.
also if those buttons at the bottom are not hardware buttons, but on screen ones, there's extra room for more screen without making the phone bigger.... googling seems to suggest that those are indeed 'on-screen' buttons on the nexus 4
thus it being a mere 1 cm taller than an iphone 5 |
Dunno, all these new phones are big when i hold them in my hand :\
I mean, extra screen size is great, but still...

Oh, those 'phones' really make no sense. One guy at the uni has Note, and every time I see him using this tablet when he's speaking to someone, makes me wanna punch his idiotic face -.-"
