Unfortunately the old thread got wiped with the forums move
But you are right, this is going to be one cracking game, it just cannot fail to deliver - I've seen it running, I've read what I could and there is nothing except historical accuracy and the lacking information on diplomacy that could have you upset
I can't be bothered regurgitating what i said in the last thread though.
Going to contendor for game of year I bet.

I hope they have a campaign like Medieval Total war.
If they have, this is going to be top 10 release this year.

[quote="-=Cartoon=-"]the website says fall this year.. i guess thats american..
When is fall ?
I'm an Aussie, the easiest way is that US seasons are opposite to ours - Therefore - Our Spring is their Autumn or when the leaves FALL off the trees, and our Autumn is their sping, and so it goes.
To be more precise - Fall would start on September 1st (our Spring) - Go until Winter which would probably start on the same day as our summer - December 1st (or thereabouts).
So game will be out from September 1st - December 1st.

Been following R:TW for awhile. Medieval kicked major ass and this looks like it is going to improve on that game in every area. Should be one of the best games of the year.
I just hope this will allow people to play all aspects of the game online vs other people and not just battles. Was a major bummer when I had 2 of my buds buy M:TW to play campaign online only to find out we could only do battles.
Check out the designer diary over at Gamespot, http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/rometotalwar/previews.html .

Actually it wouldn't be hard. Just make it so each person takes the place of a computer controlled slot. As for time, savegames would make this not a problem as people could save and pick up their game anytime they wanted. Of course, I'm not suggesting this for open gaming with people you don't know since arranging continuation of the game might be a bit of a bitch to achieve. Then again people who play these type of games with others are usually dedicated enough to get it to work, through gaming leagues or groups.
