The PC release for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will cost $29.99 / € 29.99 / £ 23.99. Here’s the press release, via Capcom:
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for PC will present stunningly high resolution graphics with increased fidelity. The game also includes full Steam platform support with Achievements and the ability to play using both Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers, plus the traditional keyboard and mouse control scheme are all available for players to customize the way they play.
Set in a huge open world, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen presents an exhilarating and rewarding action combat experience. Players embark on an epic adventure with three AI companions, known as Pawns. These partners fight independently, demonstrating prowess and ability that they have developed based on traits learned from each player. PC users can share these Pawns online and reap rewards of treasure and tips and strategy hints for taking down the terrifying enemies. Pawns can also be borrowed when specific skills are needed to complete various challenging quests.

Good news. Game was pretty cool but too small IMO. Although it's a fairly unique game in itself so hopefully a sequel will be larger and more optimized.
Mehh. It's fun, but it killed me that there isn't any proper fast travel in a world so large as this. Not even horses. They say in the start that there are opportunities to be had during night and day so some quests simply can only be taken at night so i would love to not run an hour to get all the way back to grab a quest i didn't know about.
I haven't played the console version, but I know it has a lot of problems, so unless they fix some (at least) of those it's just a big: no fucking thanks!

I always wanted to get this, but I didn't want to play it at some crappy resolution

Is it comparable to anything?
I only know it is large. Like i insinuated, i dropped the game, but only when i got a quest in the first town with enemies which clearly was a lot higher level than me so i had to get back to it later in the game.
I've played it on Xbox, it's not bad, the combat with large monsters is really interesting (you can target specific parts, climb on them etc.). Lack of fast travel and some other problems make it quite cumbersome, I'd give it a solid 7.5-8.
Just minutes after posting the below story, a Capcom rep got in touch to apologise and say that the tweet in question – you can see it below – was made in error and that a PC build of Dragon’s Dogma is not currently in development.
Apologies for getting your hopes up folks, but alas we can only report on the cards as they’re dealt.
Its like Skyrim meets Dark Souls and they have an ugly baby.. open world-ish but the world is too generic, boring and bad looking, no hand holding but with some really weird design decisions, you'll spend 70% of the time walking from a place to another; game balance is horrible, you play with a party of 4 and i've yet to have encounters that felt right for my party, stuff was either too easy or too hard..
i've only played for a couple of hours but i didnt like it much.. and phantasy rpg is my favorite genre.. horrible visuals on xbox.. maybe it will be better on pc

I made a rogue character and i felt like i didn't do any damage at all. Was it like that for you as well, whatever class you picked? Was almost like my companions did most of the damage.
Ok, maybe i'll just fire it up in a while since i'm waiting for my ac3 key. Did you manage to do the sewer quest in the first area? some lizardmen or something down there. I had no chance.
Nice, tho ps3 demo didnt blew me away but decent action rpg on pc (specially with that little japan design twist) will be welcomed. hope controls/overall optimisation wont suck monkey balls

It was a mistake. They aren't developing a PC version.
It was in the very first town, but you prolly haven't taken the quest. I think it opened up after getting to the camp and doing some stuff there north of the town.
