Can't sleep because of the coughing. And I can't take cough suppressants since that would worsen the pneumonia. Had this shit since it started the 26th of December. Wake up every morning with 39 degrees, take my meds, 3-4 hours later I'm down to 38 or 37.7. And my throat still hurts.

I had pneumonia for a month 6-7 years ago, I couldn't sleep for two weeks before my dad bought one of these:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humidifier

(look up Vaporizer in that article)

Put it in the room you sleep in, set it to MAX humidity (what should happen is all your room should be covered in "fog" when you enter it after the humidity is right), and you should be able to sleep since you will cough less and less since the air is so humid.

Hang on mate, I know it's tough but I've been there. Lost 12 kgs and vomited each time I ate something.

I was sick from 28th until two days ago, had nasty strep throat and fever. Brufen saved me, helped with fever. I had 38.5°C and couldn't move from my bed. Cold, but when I put clothes on, I'd be warm :S

Then I got Clavocin (penicilin), and now my throat is loads better Smile

And no more fever ^^

Get well soon, I know how much it sucks being sick...

I've had pneumonia 4 times in 2 years. Completely fucked up my lungs, any cold i get now turns into pneumonia.
Anyway, drink lots of tea, stay in bed, also you can take cough supressants, i believe what i'm usually prescribed is Eurespal, you should probably ask your doctor for an equivalent.

This has been going on for too long. What does the doctor say?

I always recommend alot of camomille tea, and lots of vitamin C, but I suppose you are beyond that.

I fell ill at about 1am on Friday morning. I went to bed on Thursday night feeling fine. Woke up and I was that cold it felt like I was convulsing, not shivering. Went to the toilet and I couldnt stand still so I pissed everywhere Laughing My head was spinning, had a cold, and all my joints were KILLING me. My lower back was in so much pain.

It came from nowehere. Friday was hell. Called in sick at work. Yesterday was a little better and today im loads better. I've never felt that ill before.

I went to the doc, got a reeeally high sedimentation value and low blood value, got put on penicillin for pneumonia, after 3-4 days things started to improve slightly , but I still have a ton of junk to cough up and I sleep all the time. Fevers down as well. Now I can look forward to a month of dry cough which I hope they will help me with by providing some high grade cough suppressant once I've finished the penicillin treatment.

Never been so sick in my life before, and not for this long.

I probably have a thousand undiagnosed conditions, what's the point of visiting a doctor to heal if it's gonna cost me an arm an a leg, and both my testicles?

Capitalism is heartless. Anyone on welfare is seen as lazy from the eyes of the privileged who've never been in a poor man's shoes. Thinking it's a choice to be helpless.

Finally got some powerful cough suppressant meds (cocillana etyfin, some sirup with ethyl morphine) and can breathe without suffocating from coughing.

That stuff made me pretty nauseous. Probably because of the absolutely horrid taste, I guess the pharmacy made it taste so awful to "suppress" drug abuse.

96% ethanol, 1% ethyl morphine, blabla Cocillana extract, senega extract etc... The herb/root extracts cause the taste. I kinda like the taste.. liquorice.
